Throne Of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Post by kamccallum »

Throne of Glass is about this world's most notorious assassin, Celaena Sardothien. She has been enslaved in Endovier, salt mines, for the past year, which is impressive as the life expectancy is only a month. The book begins when the king decides to host a competition deciding who will be his champion. The young prince, Dorian, and the captain of the guard, Chaol, travel to Endovier to collect Celaena, who will represent Dorian in the competition. The kings closest 'friends' each have an opportunity to choose their contestant, who will compete. Because her only other option is death, Celaena agrees. The book takes place at the castle, where a darkness lurks and romance lives.
I give this book 5 stars. It was completely outstanding! I loved Celaena. She was strong-willed and deadly, yet relatable. She was everything I want to be. The romance was compelling and the fight scenes intense. If you haven't read much fantasy, this is a great introduction. It was easy to understand and descriptive. I would definately recommend this novel.
