Depends on how intrigued I am by the cover, author or preface. I'm more likely to skip a short book that's 150 pages or less and go for at least a 300 page novel. I've never turned down a book for a high page count but if it's going to be like The Count of Monte Cristo or The Mystery of Edwin Drood I need to love the story to finish it.

I don't usually judge a book based on the number of pages, but I might leave longer books for when I have more time to sit down and get into it.

Page count is not something I even consider. If the book is appealing to me it really doesn't matter how many pages it has. I like to read and that's what counts. A short story can be just as fulfilling as a longer one. It all depends on the content and flow of the story, and also the detail to make the story complete and compelling.

I really want to read a "quick" story right now. If a book is long, I don't even want to look at it! I just want something fast and easy! Of course, this is just my mood right now. It might change in the next five minutes. You never know with me.

Not really. It annoys me when I finish a 800 page novel and the actual story could have been told in 200. But I'm a pretty fast reader, so I don't choose my books based on length.

No. If the storyline is boring I am grateful the book is short! Even with a movie; I have to read/see the ending!

I have no preference about the number of pages.
I read anthologies, and stand-alone, and series.
Series to me are more like reading one book over several years. If they're done well especially.
Some of the shortest books I've read are the Nightside series by Simon R Green and I love them. He has the greatest sense of humor! Also, some of the longest are just as good.
I'm sure that some books could do with being shorter...but I know some I wish were longer, and others that needed to be longer to get the story right.

There are pretty lengthy novels that are still a great read so I don't really bother with the page count. As long as the plot is interesting then it's worth my time.

Yes. If it's shorter than 200-309 pages, then I frankly don't think too well of it already.

I tend to enjoy larger books. I'm always sad once the story ends; so the longer the story, the better.

No, page counts doesn't matter to me, the story can have a soul in even two pages.

It depends on my mood. If I am under time constraints I might choose a smaller book but generally the topic is what will determine my choice of book.

YES! I cannot stand it when I buy a book online and when I go to open it in my kindle or nook, I find it only has like 87 pages or something. Then to make matters worse, its part of a series that is full of "mini-books" that are not free be the way. So basically, your paying triple the price for a three or for "mini-books" that add up to only be one whole books. Triple the price!!!
