I am new here, so I don't know, but could it be because some people are more interested in a chance to be paid than in creating a community and a forum to discuss books, authors, etc.? I know that's why I joined... I need extra cash and the site promised me a chance to read books, which I love to do, and get paid write reviews.... like I said I'm new, so I don't know... but that's my thought.

Welcome to the site! Don't set your sights too high, though. It takes a little while to work your way up to getting paid reviews - you'll have to do a few free ones first - and even then, the usual pay is $5 per review. Paid reviews aren't always available. After you submit a paid review, it will be a couple of weeks before you can get another one. If you make $10 or $15 a month, you'll be doing good. But there is a lot more that this site has to offer. The forums can be fun, with a very wide array of topics.

It's a " catch 22 " tho, if you post too much there's less time to read...
