I personally like pens the most, although in grade school I used to like pencils.I use both but right now I am leaning more toward pens because they are smoother and more comfortable.

For me it would have to be the pen. Only because it is so much smoother to write with. I absolutely love blue pens mostly. The only time I use black ink is when I am signing official documents. Black ink is so boring.

I especially like writing with a fountain pen. But other than that I really like to write in pencil. Having said that though, there are some kind of pens that I do find super easy to write with and when I happen upon one I do tend to write with it until it is empty or I lose it.
I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over.

It is amazing how such joy can come from the writing utensil as well as from the mind behind them! :D

I love pen. Not cheap pens either. I'm kind of a writing utensil snob.

Pencil because they have erasers to erase my mistakes. I don't like scribbles.

This is my colorful collection of pens that goes everywhere with me.
They look like markers, but they're pens. Like felt tip pens.
I love them like they are my family.

I used to love mechanical pencils, but since finishing school, I prefer pens. The pencil lead often faded, left smudges, or transferred to the page after it. Now that pretty homework isn't necessary, the pen is just plain easier. It's easier to see, it stays unsmudged, and it doesn't leave any marks where I haven't put them.

Exactly! The pencil always smudges to other pages and I hate that!
Plus, it always rubs off all inside my bag!

I use pencil unless I'm trying to look fancy. haha
But am I the only one who realizes my handwriting and spelling improve incredibly when I shift from pencil to pen? It's like in the back of my mind my brain knows that I can't afford messing up with pens.

I use a pencil when I write the body of a writing but I use a pen when making the headings.
