What did you love/hate most about J.R Ward's Lover At Last?

Post by Ticia2022 »

I am in LOVE with the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R Ward. I literally take a day off from work every year just to have an uninterrupted day of binge eating and the brothers. My favorite books are of course the first 7 in the series. Naturally, I was soooo excited about Lover At Last coming out. Ward has been giving us brief glimpses into Blay and Qhuinn's rocky relationship that I couldn't stand the suspense and anticipation. I was ready for them to finally get their HEA.
I really enjoyed the book and put it right up there with Wrath, Zsadist and Butch's stories. I loved that J.R Ward wrote a M/M novel and thought she did a great job. The book was full of great sex, fighting and tension and the build up to their HEA was great.
However.... I would have loved to see more of Blay and Qhuinn after they finally got together. Really, the only scene where you see how they interact as a couple was at the end. I wanted to know more, to experience more! What do they do when they are off rotation together? How do they interact with each other now that they are not fighting? Do they get jealous if another person hits on one of them?
Well I think you get the point... I just wanted MORE...
What did you think of the book? Would you have liked to see more of Blay and Qhuinn once they were mated?

I am also in LOVE with all things BDB. I loved Blay & Qhuinn's story. I have been anxiously awaiting their story thanks to the hints and tidbits that Ward has dropped throughout the series. I was a little disappointed by the way she ended the book. I love that they got together and I loved the way they got together but I would have loved to see more interaction between them and the Brothers after they came out as a couple. I felt that Ward did a beautiful job showing the love they shared but then I felt that she failed to show the "reality" of them as a couple. I hope that as she continues the series we are able to get a better glimpse into their lives together.

Yes exactly!!! Did you hear that J.R Ward will be starting another spin-off series that will star the original brothers and their shellans? Basically, the brothers will be starting up the training facilities again and the books will be about their personal lives, following the new recruits and the brothers teaching the classes. I am so excited for this. I have to admit that, as much as I love the Brotherhood Series, I was starting to lose interest in all these side stories. I mean, there is nothing about them fighting Lessers anymore? That was what the whole story was about; them fighting to keep the vampire community safe!!!

I was also so excited to see that Blay & Quinn got a story, but I agree that I felt that I was missing a HUGE piece of their lives after it ended. I am hoping that the new series that comes out has some of them in it and you can see how they are. I mean Quinn is going to be a father!!! What is not to love about that!! I can't wait for The Shadows as well, the wait is killing me!!
