Oh wow, great to read all the tips. I'l follow them now and I am sure they will be a great help because many a times, I start a book but because of its being too discriptive and slow I lose my courage to continue it. So I guess that won't happen anymore :D.

Yeah you are right, that's what I do too. I hear my friends and colleagues talking about a certain book so I just read it and mostly those books turn out to be good reads. So, its my friends and colleagues who decide as to what I should be reading and I guess that's pretty much what a lot of people do.

I have also read many books that i would never even have heard of through the good faith and word of workmates and friends, its a great way to explore more books and broaden your knowledge.

Yeah right, even I want to read the unheard ones with strange titles but the funny thing is that I could hardly finish the ones *heard* by friends so unfortunately I get no time to check out the unheard.

This is a great set of tips! Especially like the trick to find out whether a book is overly descriptive.

:D I should show this to a friend of mine. Every time she goes in the book store to but something interesting she returns with some very boring book which looks like a textbook. I hope this will help her. :)

Good tips, thanks, but i think some things can be addapted. For example now you can find out more about the content and everything from the internet and to not spend you money you can take it from a library.
