Do You Ever Just Find Sentences/Lines/Paragraphs...

Post by Carla Hurst »

just popping into your head. Some at the most inopportune moments?

I find this a lot while writing dialog. It is like the characters have a "life" of their own...lol...so there I am...in the middle of whatever...scribbling fiercely. It is a good thing my friends and family understand...or they might medicate me :)

Yes, and usually if the book is mine I underline things that I like. Later I can easier return to the part I like.

Yes I get this every now again, but it gets committed to my subconscious. When I am in the process of writing, I may have to stick at it for about an hour before my mind becomes meditated enough to recall it from the depths.

Oh my word, I thought I was the only one who did stuff like that. It never fails that these "gems" always come to me at some inopportune times like driving. I even considered purchasing a tape recorder. Anyone else use recorders? Would you recommend it?

I have used a recorder before...especially in the woods/hiking/whatever...much more portable...stream of consciousness as you walk/hike/observe.

that happens sometimes while watching something or sitting alone my mind just wanders about and there are ideas from nowhere that fill my mind....i do not how does it happens....but that leaves me in an urgent search for a pen and a paper.

Yeah at that time the need of writing seems desperate because if you delay that idea for a while, you can not get the details as right as when it actually popped up in your mind.
