Epub Questions

Have other members encountered problems downloading epub books? I tried to download one and a high-level attack was blocked by my computer's security software. Is this common with books in epub format?

I have never heard of it before.

It would be hard for an epub file to contain a distributable virus since it is really just an HTML/CSS file. However, if your virus software is making suggestions, it's probably best to play it safe. There are plenty of books to review.

I agree with you that it's best to play it safe. I think it's probably just a firewall on the security software, but it's always worriesome when you get an alert.

Hi Scott! Thank you so much for your help in finding a good e-reader for Epub format. The Barnes and Noble Nook PC is up and running along with Adobe Digital Editions. I do have to ask where I find the book-seller ID for the book I downloaded for review though! When I open the file, I am prompted to enter the Book Seller's ID as well as a code?

Thank you for you patience, I am new to the e-reader.

I don't think you should have to do that. It sounds like the file that was uploaded may have DRM or otherwise be improperly formatted. In this particular case, I have already resolved the matter in response to an error report you sent through the review team page.
