Eragon by Christopher Paolini will always hold a special spot for me.
The Seventh Tower by Garth Nix (my first series I read all the way through)
The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss (yet unfinished!.... grrr)
Iron Druid by Kevin Hearne (I just started this a week or two ago but I already love it. My kind of humor)

Tigers curse series by Colleen Houck is a very good book. It has a little bit of fantasy, romance, and history all in one. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer are a close second. They are about people that are like, from a fairy tale. The first, Cinder is about Cinder(ella) but there is a twist. She is a cyborg. Both series are VERY good and are page-turners.

Usually, I don't like to invest time in a series. The thought of having to wait months to find out what happens to a favorite character is excruciating. However, Hilda the Wicked Witch series by Paul Kater is my only exception. It started with Snow White Revisited, which is a stand alone story about what really happened in the classic tale of Snow White. I read it, loved it, and wanted more by the author. Not counting Snow White, there are so far 15 books, and I'm waiting with baited breath for the next one.

The Daisy Dalrymple series of books has become a recent favorite of mine. A very good period mystery series.

This is a hard one because I have read so many different series over the years. I prefer to read them after the author has finished them because I do not like to have to wait for the next book in a series to come out. I think if I have to pick a favorite to date it is probably the Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton, and it is still ongoing. Lol, I changed my mind three times while writing this.

I recommend short series consisting of four parts written by James Thompson. I read only three parts because the newst part has not translated to my languag yet but I want to read it when this book become avaiable in my country in English or Polish. All the boks are about action of oldshool police oficer who try to resolve complicated mistery like in classical criminal/derective novel. These boks are nice and written in simple language, perfect for a rainly night. Unforunately I have bad information...Author started writting continuation of the saga but didn't finish it. James Thompson died last yesr ( probably in car crash). In spite of this books are worth to draw attention. Thank you for your attention :)
