Wow, just 2 days until the big Day and i went down town today to get a few horror movies just in case the mood hit me to throw on some tonight or sunday (heading out tomorrow!) but the selection was crap, all ancient zombie films or Dracula, whereas i wanted the Scream, Halloween, Ring type movies, i will try again tomorrow because there is rarely any decent horror movies on tv on the night.

That is another reason why I love Netflix so much!! Most of the good movies are on instant queue and you don't have to worry about people renting all the good stuff.

Nosferatu- 1922
The Thing- 1951
Creature From The Black Lagoon- 1954
The Wolf Man- 1941
King Kong- 1933

Im pretty psyched! I own a good part of them but the rest you can find online (youtube is the best...).

Thanks for the offer Laci, i will check out town again today and if there is nothing decent on i may go down your route of watching the classics on Tube, it would give plenty of mad moments for the insanity thread

Some of those movies are quite funny these days Laci! Its not meant to be funny of course but watching women from the 1930s let out long comical wails when the mummy/vampire/creature is closing in on her whilst she shuffles up the corridor at a speed of 0.5mph is brilliant! Did you ever see House on Haunted Hill (1959) with Vincent Price? Very funny, the sound went from deathly silence to bloodcurdling scream when the woman spotted a skeleton ambling towards her.

And why the hell do they always do that thing with their arms when they are screaming like they are reaching out to the audience circa Celine Dion at the end of a dramatic song instead of turning heel and getting the hell out of there?!

I do find little details funny in horror films though- the dog in Paranormal Activity 2 just cracked me up the way he kept looking at the camera, he didnt have a clue he was being filmed i guess that just made me laugh

I know what you mean! I have seen Nosferatu so many times it's pathetic. It a silent film so i always end up giving my own dialogue... which of course always ends up dirty somehow...

The arm thing just cracks me up. One will be reaching out towards the heavens and the other tucked around their chins with a blood wrenching scream. Like thats suppose to save them? I think not... jeez... women. ugh. I would have atleast found a table to hide under...haha... it probably would have saved me better than the oh so amazing hand thing.

The Hill House is hilarious... have you seen the original Frankenstein- 1931? haha... it's ridiculous. I love those older movies.

Yeah, and if you notice, the more imminent the danger, the louder the scream i.e as the creature shuffles closer, instead of running she just ups the pitch of her scream

I guess women back in the day needed men to do everything for them so the thought of jumping under the table didnt even occur to the daft bint. I didnt see the original Frankenstein but i will check it out on Tube after or tomorrow thanks, i need a good laugh.

Ha check this out Laci, it proves my whole "screaming" point-if you drag the link to 2 scenes in House on Haunted Hill (1959)- first scene at 59mins into it- she has a rope wrapped round her feet and all she does is stand there muttering "No!" then she starts screaming as a hand reaches out to her.

But nothing can top the scene with the skeleton 1hr 09mins into it, she just screams louder and backs away, mind you she could have done more but by that stage my sides had split with the laughter:

Mike that's hilarious. Jeez... why would you just stand there and watch a rope come right at you slowly? Wheres a table when you need one? haha... i want her shoes. :D
Atleast she didnt do the hand thing with her screams... she just looked awkward. I love the fact that her mouths the only thing you notice. lol. Thank you for that side splitting laugh of the day!!!

Hope you have fun tonight Mike!!!

I love the Glow Stick idea Starqrider!!!
