Oh without a doubt Dean Koontz. For the longest time he was my absolute favorite author, I bought every book I could get my hands on, I read every book, people gave me gifts of his books and then my love for Dean Koontz just died!

There are so many, but the first was probably Barbara Michaels. Though soon after that, anything by Christopher Pike. I loved those books!! Plus the babysitter club books and Nancy Drew. I read a lot as a kid haha

Murakami. I didn't enjoy all of his works, though.

When I was in college, I had a job where I worked nights as a security guard in my father's office building. Needless to say, every night I had come up with a way to stay awake. So, I started reading. My first Stephen King book was "The Shining," which I read in about 4 1/2 hours. The following night I read "'salem's Lout." I was hooked from then, on. I wound up reading Stephen King's entire bibliography in under three weeks, and I loved it!

My first book to read was 'past secrets' by patrica scannel, given to me by my mother. Following that I think I have read every book by this author. This was the beginning of my love of reading many years ago. My prefered genre now are thrillers, following patrica scanell my new love was for john grisham. I love to read crime writing fiction and non fiction

I think it was western novelist Louis L'Amour. When I was a pre-teen I read almost nothing but western novels.

rainydayrun wrote:Stephen King. He's the only author I have to read everything by. I haven't read anyone else who writes consistently well enough to hold my attention. Not that I like gore all that much but he is reliably suspenseful, and really good at telling a story.
I love Stephen King! My favorite has always been Hearts in Atlantis! :D

As a kid, my first author that I followed like that was R.L. Stine. I read every Goosebumps book I could and then moved on to the Fear Street series. Shortly, thereafter I found out about Stephen King and then I was lost in that world, reading every book of his in the library.
