Yes, I do believe in ghosts, good or bad. I've had a few encounters myself. I love scary stories as well. Very interesting!

I'm currently taking a class on American Folklore and the topic of ghosts and the supernatural have come up a few times. After what we have discussed and my previous knowledge of this nature, I wouldn't discredit their existence.

I don't necessarily believe in ghosts. But I do believe in energy. What you call ghost, I call the human conscience interacting with energy.

I do think ghosts exist although I have never seen one.

More than ghosts I believe in supernatural entities, but I guess they are one and the same.

I do believe in ghosts even though I know most people around me don't. To me there are 2 explanations for them. First, they very well could be energy because if you think about it, Physics state that energy and matter can be neither created nor destroyed only changed so when someone dies, what happens to the left over energy in that person's body. The second is that it may be something brought to life because of a lasting memory of someone or something.

Although I haven't had any ghostly encounter, I do believe our world is full of mysteries and there are other realms out there beyond our own.

Where do I begin? There is so much to the afterlife that cannot be known or understood. We'll have to experience it and discover the truth of it when our time comes. I don't think ghosts are necessarily something to be "believed" in but they are something that people have definitely experienced. I think people should examine what they've experienced through logic and reason first. Often times people are simply spooked or their reaction is the result of some sort of fear. However, there are things that cannot be explained. Strange things, paranormal things, do happen. I've had experiences, definitely. And I'm not someone who watches ghost stories or goes to mediums, etc. I'm a very Zen individual, looking at the facts, the reality of what is.

Personally, I do believe in ghosts, although I do take stories about them with a grain of salt. At one point I read that they aren't the spirits of those that have passed away, but rather the connection we have to alternate dimensions.

Coming from that idea, I think there are different types of ghosts. Those that are indeed spirits from the past, some from the future, and even some from alternate timelines/dimensions. Some aspects may even be just energy in general.

I know some people who don't believe in ghosts, but fond ghost stories and movies absolutely terrifying (my father and brother are both members of that category) and can't read anything that may involve a ghost. I think they are just concerned if they read a story well-written enough, their opinion might change.

As long as the ghosts serve a purpose in the book or movie, rather than just being there for the sake of being there, then I thoroughly enjoy books with ghosts and other supernatural elements.

I am a total believer, in fact I have more experiences than I can count. There are countless stories concerning my family as well. Most of them are no scary (ghosts) and then there are the scary ones…I guess those are the unforgettable ones. The one (not scary) I cherish the most is my grandfather, I was very close to him, he practically raised me, anyway he always said he was going to take care of us. He warns me of stuff to come: accidents, whenever my grandmother is in peril, deals gone awry, whenever I am nervous about a new job, promotion (he tells me it will be ok) etc…I love him for that but then again I would love for him to rest. He spent his life helping everyone else, now it is time for him to be at peace.

I absolutely believe in ghosts. I don't believe there is a realm where they all hang. However, I think it's possible for someone who has crossed over to communicate here with the living.

I don't believe in ghosts, but I think it's much like religion. There is no proof of anything, only faith and belief to keep it alive.

I've had plenty of weird things happen which I've put down to sleepwalking. I live alone, and at times of stress, have woken up with my pillows piled on the kitchen counter instead of the bed; found myself in the spare room; been unable to find my mobile until it turned up in the fridge.

I think the more interesting question is, do you think you have a choice about these beliefs? I personally think it is ingrained from childhood. No matter how hard I tried to believe in ghosts, or fairies, or God, I don't think I could change the wiring of my brain enough to facilitate it.

I totally think we have a choice, because truth is what is real. Either ghosts exist or they don't. Either God exists or He doesn't. Whether we are willing to recognize those truths or not is really the crux of the matter.
