Do I like to read books about places I have never been ? I honestly don't know . I love books when I am reading I become the protagonist of the book , if they cry I feel their sorrow, if they are in love then my heart quickens it's pace, I hear what they hear and I see what they see. I am able to evoke these emotions because I have been through them, however to conjure up something or some where that I have never been nor seen, I always seem to fall short and is left with a sense of yearning.

yes, because it is very exciting and fun....then we can also discover different things, people, countries and even your hobby...You can also become a adventuruous man or a discoverer,to know how beautiful has god made the world :) :D god has made the world for those people who care for the things that he create, God is letting us free to discover or to explore the different things that he create,Then some people have an idea on how to get the place that you wander, people are smart   theyve got an idea on how to get the place that we wander by writing a story in the different places that you want to explore, Then they publish it to let the people encourage to read, and imagine the place that they wander...That' why i like to read a books that includes :) a highlights and a different settings..Yes i really like to read a books about a places that i never been before. :D

I do, for sure. But I also love to read books about places I have been. It just gives me a base with the book and an element of familiarity. However, as we all know, you can learn so much from books and thus, learn a lot about places that you haven't ever been to.

I definitely love reading about places I've never been to before. I am a travelholic so reading about a new place makes me feel I visited that place through mine and the writer's imagination.
My favourite book about a foreign place is Harry Potter series.

I love reading about foreign places especially as I will probably never visit most of them. My favorite book about a foreign place? That's a little bit tougher question. It might be cheating, but it would probably be Pride and Prejudice. Not only is it about a place I don't live (England), but it's also about a generation I'm not part of. I would love to go back during that time period and observe.

Oh, yes. I like reading books about places I have never visited. Such books arouses my creative power, as I imagine and be absorbed in the scenes and settings as they unfold. That is why I enjoy reading science fictions. Novelty experiences are enticing. When I read these with the writer's eyes I learn a lot in a bid to improve the settings of my stories.

Reading books set in locations I have never been to is one of the many wonderful things about reading, in my opinion. My favorite settings happen to be fantasy ones. It is amazing that authors can craft a world out of their own imagination and put it down on paper in a way that others can experience this unique land they created. Ofcourse, I also love books based in locations that do actually exist! Though Elin Hilderbrand's books are not my very favorite, infidelity plays a big role in all her books which isn't my taste usually, I always go out of my way to pick them up so I can be transported to Nantucket. I don't think I can pick a favorite book in a different setting but I can say that I read Outlander not too long ago and I really want to read the second one now! The Scottish Highland setting is fantastic.

Almost all my favorite books depict places where I've never been. Especially fantasy. :wink2:

When I read a good interesting book, I kind of watch a movie inside myself. So I see described places when reading about them. It's like traveling. :)

Reading a book set somewhere I've never been has always felt like I'm being introduced to the place for the first time. It adds to my desire to visit that place, and it helps me get into the book a bit more. I definitely enjoy settings like that.
