I enjoy reading about places I haven't been simply because it is a way, in a sense, to experience the culture and views without actually being there in some books, and/or it makes me want to visit them physically. I also simply enjoy being able to take myself to a different place within a book and when a book talks about specific places it allows me to already have an image to go towards! I think it's quite rewarding to read about different places!

It is always my pleasure to read about places I have never been to, it is like an adventure to Such places. Places like Rome, Jordan and Las Vegas are places I have been aspiring to visit one day. Reading about them even ignite my longing to visit them.

There are some places where I can never get to so I like to read about them. For example, I can never get to the Battle of Waterloo but I can read about it. I can never get to the Garden of Eden but I can read about it.

I love learning new facts about places I have never been that are completely contrary to what I had thought about the place. So many times I have read something only to find out that a place I though was completely landlocked was actually bordering on a sea! I do find that I get so jealous so many times when reading about a place I would love to go to and just wishing I was there too...

Yes. I'm a big fan of Barbara Delinsky. All of her stories take place in areas along the North Eastern coast of the U.S. including some small islands. She writes a lot of stories that take place in quaint small towns and she makes them all seem like a wonderful place to visit.

Absolutely! It is one of the best way to use your imagination and be inspired to visit the place, know its people, culture and learn so much about other parts of the world you have never or would not be able to visit. For instance reading about ancient Greece or Rome makes me want to travel there and see some of the historical places like the Colosseum and Zeus temple.

:techie-studyingbrown: Personally I love reading about places that I have never been to! As long as the author makes the setting easily accessible to a non-familiar reader, I think it's great! I feel the same for books with time travel as well. I love seeing the different time periods through the eyes of the characters in a book. :D :techie-studyingbrown:

Reading about the places I have never been is an exciting thing. It makes me visualize everything the author is trying to draw through his or her words. It is nice.
What is the most special thing I did today- I was MYSELF. Happy and in love and unapologetically myself.

Not really, because I cannot be able to figure out what is fiction and what is real.
