Yep, that's about the only sure-fire way of going about it....Although you won't forget the person, you won't be bothered by them any more and you can move on....

Just stay busy, work your head off. thats the best way. You may never forget them, but it helps. It did for me when my wife died.

Re-invent. :) I always cut my hair when moving on. New chapter, new chances. New glamorous you. Staying busy is never a bad thing. Community hobbies are always fun, art classes, knitting circles, ect.

Another way is to lock yourself in a room with a bottle of good whiskey and get paralyzed poo-poo faced and bawl your head off. Kind of extreme but it works.

@ nabaa, Its a rough deal to lose someone you love, be it from death or a lovers seperation or whatever. You never forget them. But as they say, time heals all wounds. The pain grows less as time goes by, but never goes away completely. Hope things work out ok for you.
