I guess this is the case with most of us ?Amagine wrote:The roots in my family have long been forgotten. I truly don't really know my own heritage or the culture of my ancestors.

Great to have a book.. hope I get to develop as a writer and write a book on my roots.. Need a lot of research as I know nothing.ebethina wrote:Yes I do believe they did. My family and I are very close except for family that live outside of the state we just don't see as much. We still try to keep knowledge of ancestry and roots. Someone in my mom's family had written a book on who the ancestors were and it was very interesting.

People are forced to be like that maybe because of others behave oddly upon knowing and start judging them.Amagine wrote:Some people know who or what they are and they hide in shame or for some other reason. I always find that tragic.

You're right and it's sad thing when heritage becomes swallowed by modernity.meteku4 wrote:I see Tom an Myra's tribe as one whose culture and heritage is being swallowed up by modernity and other more powerful cultures. For Myra to have fought hard to protect that which belongs to their ancestors is an indication that they've stayed true to their ancestry.
