This book sounds interesting and kind of like the Robert Jordan books. Both have a lot of characters. I enjoyed this review and think I'll check out the book as well. Thanks!

I'm not going to lie, if it has dragons in it I don't care what the plot is i'm going to give it a read. LOL This does sound like it's going to be worth the read!

Great review! I can tell you enjoyed reading the book. This is not the genre I prefer reading, so I'll probably pass on this one.

An exciting fantasy for young adults. I personally like stories about dragons very much, so I'll read this one gladly.

Thanks for the good review kislany. An epic fantasy with dragons, a boy who has experience great tragedies with 4 very different and annoying characters sounds interesting and funny. The fact there is no female fully develop characters turned me off. But I have read 25 percent of it and the reason for this, it occurs in a monastery and there is no women there and girl orphans are sent to the nuns somewhere else. Other reasons seem pivotal why the boy is sent to the monastery in the first place. The book is fascinating and is Khadr to put down. I look forward to reading the rest of it.

Thanks Sam Gemstone.

It's a shame about the underdeveloped female characters, but this definitely sounds like a fantastic epic fantasy novel. I'm a big fan of the genre so I'm thinking I will like it, despite the few shortcomings you pointed out. Thanks for your honest review. You give terrific insight into this book.

Your review does a good job of presenting the story. High fantasy, unlikely heros, and adventure -all good things to make a story about.

Great review! This sounds like a great story although the portrayal of female characters you mentioned is disappointing.

This book is not within my typically preferred genre but it sounds really interesting. I will be sure to recommend it to my husband who enjoys stories with this type of plot.

Wow! What an awesone and well-written review. Reading and absorbing all 800 pages isn't easy. By the review I could picture the scenes already. 101% I will be reading this book this weekend. Just a question: Why is there no female character here?

Would be still looking forward to this book. I don't usually read thick books (800 pages is already too long for me) but it's fantasy/sci-fi so it can be arranged depending on how the author hooks the readers in its first few chapters. You have also noted that it's more of a male-centric one. It's been a while since I last read a male lead in a story as most YA and NA new releases I've read in the past has strong female leads. Thank you for your review and looking forward to read DragonGate the soonest.

Really useful review - I enjoyed the style of the book in the preview, but I noticed the issue with character names right away, a bunch of figures introduced but not distinguished from each other. Since it doesn't get better throughout that seems like it could quickly wear. I've also gotten a bit bored of stories that have only male characters, so I'll give this one a pass for now, but if I find myself in the mood for a new classic epic maybe I'll return to it.
