Re: Official Review: Final Notice by Van Fleisher

Because of this review I've added this novel, Final Notice, by Van Fleisher to my bookshelf for a future read. I love the premise because as a senior myself, I'm haunted by idea of what I would do if I knew the date of my death and time was running out, although I don't think killing people would be on my list. I am a little bothered by the disclaimer by the reviewer about school shootings since I substitute teach at the middle school level. Even with that, the premise of the book is all too exciting for me to pass up so I'll read it.

This was such an interesting read and I have to say I'm hooked and I can't wait to read the rest. At first, I wasn't sure if this was just going to be a take on gun ownership, etc., but then it took us to a crime and to another perspective that reminded me of "Crash", and I love that. However, it kept twisting and I found myself picking up on clues like the apple products/technology and the fitness watch that made me wonder even more where was this story taking me. The title of the book finally made sense and now I can't imagine how I would feel...a definite fantastic read so far.

Such an intriguing plot line. A final notice is an interesting concept, that's for sure, and I can definitely see people using the remaining time they have for good or bad, as this story depicts. Thanks for the review!

The Final Notice, eviction from the world of the living? Will it be a privilege to know it? Or will it be a curse, a torment? It may provide some sort of impunity for some, to commit crimes upon knowing that they will not be around to answer for it. Or will it behoove someone to repent and cleanse the soul? It is really intriguing, what will this propel a man to do, knowing his last days are forthcoming. Thanks for the splendid review. I could not ask for a much better one.

Great review on Final Notice! I like how you did not gave much details about the story's plot making readers more curious about the story. Adding this on my want-to-read list.

I think Van Fleisher's Final Notice has a terrific storyline. It will be interesting to know how characters in this book react to their final notices. Good job, on the review, Sarah_Khan!

I try to steer clear of this debate mostly because of the violence it entails and the ways people usually react to the anti-gun side of the debate, but this may still be worth reading as far as the "what would you do if you knew you were about to die" concept. It gives you a lot to think about with both subjects. Thank you for the insightful and honest review.

This is a very intriguing premise. I've never read anything like this book before. I'm glad that there weren't so many characters to keep track of and that the pacing was well-done. Great review!

The "final notice" idea seems like a clever plot device to explore questions around gun ownership. Thanks for the review.

Incredibly written with twists and turns! This may not be someone's ideal book to read but if you happen to try this you may happen to enjoy why it is called Final Notice.Unpredictable actions of characters that will leave you guessing what comes next or who comes after the others' final notices..How they will deal with it either positively or negatively.Hats off to the author and on BOTD!
