This sounds like a book I would be interested in. It sounds like the author has succeeded in drawing well-rounded characters who experience quite a bit of personal growth. Growing up is indeed a challenging time - especially when thrown into difficult circumstances. Also, it seems as though this book covers a wide range of important topics. Good discussion material. Thanks for the review!

I agree with the reviewer in that the characters are well developed. I was drawn into Thatcher's and Star's world immediately. The writing is superb.

I enjoyed the story though briefly, I liked the way of writing, and constructive ways in which the characters were alive. I seriously think it's a good book to read while you're traveling. I can't t think of anything that I don't about this book. I recommend this book to anybody who enjoys reading, but especially those who like to read books in which a large portion of the character’s life is shown and the character grows and develops throughout the events in the book, I myself I'm new to books but them I already got hooked.
Check it out to understand what I mean.

Even though I usually love YA novels, I just don't think I could get into this one. I don't particularly care for stories that cover spans of the characters' lives - which is why I also don't like memoirs or autobiographies - and it sounds like that's just what this is. I'm really glad they did such a good job with the characters, though, as I think it's vitally important to have firm foundations for characters that the reader will be following for decades of time.

Thank you for the in-depth glowing review of The Dream Keepers by Linda Keen. It sounds like an interesting premise in which two siblings orphaned at a young age are raised by two sets of grandparents. It sounds like there are powerful themes of coming of age, friendship, and family in the story.

I like this book because it addresses both the good and bad sides of growing up. I especially like that the characters are African American because it gives the readers a different perspective. Issues like racism which must be discussed can be done so through books such as this one. It allows people who are not black to feel sympathy or empathy with the characters as they go through their journeys.

It's a great review. It gives an interest to know more about the story. The change and how the two characters adjust their lifestyle, transferring from one home to another, from their childhood to teenaged. I really like the review. Thank you!

Linda Keen's The Dream Keepers is my kind of narrative. It's interesting that the author explores significant themes such as family and friendship through the characters of two siblings, Star and Thatcher. I think the review is so well-done!

This book sounds amazing! When I read that the children were happy with one set of grandparents but then had to start a new life with their second set, I was worried that the book would turn to abuse. It is so refreshing to know that there are books out there that deal with the complications of new relationships and situations without having to throw that into the plot! I can't wait to read this book. Thank you for the wonderful, honest review.
