the non blog, blog
As an avid reader and hopeful writer I want to try something a little different...
Rather than a book I have decided to write "the non blog, blog"
Most blogs allow a reader to take a near real time glimpse into someones everyday life, the non blog, blog does not.
I see it as myself writing my life story without removing the stablisers!
I have created the site dullboyblog . weebly . com which gives you a prelude to the actual blog which will only go live if readers want it to!
I'd love to hear from some fellow book lovers to see if you think the tone is right, if you feel it's actually interesting and I'd be especially grateful if you could leave a comment on the site.
Thanks in advance

Why am I doing it?
Why is it a "non blog, blog" rather than a blog that takes on the traditional format?
Why not just write a book?
Why do I value your opinion?
I can answer all of these...
- I'm doing it for the same reasons any other writer completes something, I want to share a story and hope that others can enjoy it. I hope that just because I choose a different delivery format shouldn't change the way people perceive it
- Why not a normal blog?....aren't there enough of those? I want to challenge the traditional formats and create a bit of interest in something because it's slightly different, not just a "me too" piece of work. OK, eventually it will "go live" as a blog where people subscribe (for free of course) to receive the next instalment but it will always be interesting stories from my past rather than from my now rather dull lifestyle
- Writing a book is a hugely time consuming process that sadly does not fit well with my current situation...I can complete the non blog, blog in the times where my family and other commitments are not soaking up my time.
Also, as a beginner, a book to me seems so final (don't get me wrong...that is not a bad thing if you know what you are doing!)...if you write it and publish it then it is what it is, forever...with the non blog, blog I have the opportunity to shape the way I convey my messages and stories over time, hopefully improving and taking on real time feedback from readers along the way.
Why did I ask for your opinion? My perception is that "book lovers" and "blog lovers" are a slightly different breed...I read a lot of books but not many blogs. This is my first attempt at starting one and I believe the audience from my blog should and could be a mixture of "book lovers" and "blog lovers"...I want to write in such a way that the "blog lovers", who want the quick fix of information delivered in a neat and efficient manner, and the "book lovers" who want to enjoy the continuation and sensation of an intriguing story line are both left feeling fulfilled.
Who better to ask than you guys?

I hope I captured all of the potential whys
Thanks
