Nightlife by R. Thurman

Post by Vogin »

Anyone read this urban fantasy & perhaps its followups as well? It's basically a story from New York City where humans and "monsters" co-exist, albeit humans have no idea the others exist. Two brothers, one of which is a half-monster spent their life running from "Auphe" (evil elves) and finally managed to settle down a bit in NYC.

The book(s) are filled with sarcastic humor, a lot of action and I really liked it - feel free to share your thoughts :)

Sounds like the adult version of "City of Bones" from Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series, also set in NYC. But from what I've heard, Rob Thurman's Cal and Niko Leandros series is good reading. She has the seventh book in the series coming out in 2012, so she's on a winner.

I've only read "The Grimrose Path" from her Trickster trio and I didn't hate it but I don't think she'll be writing a follow up.

So it seems I may have to read "Nightlife" - and what's not to like about urban fantasy laced with plenty of sarcasm and action! It's the gory bits I don't like.....
