I think I need this book. I have a few difficult people in my life, and from the sample pages and your review, this book sounds like an answer to my woes. In the past, I have tried to say something to only be met with anger which then causes one to go run and hide and then just put up with it. It sounds like this book is well done and would help readers not just to cope but to actually work on building a bridge between the person who is tough to deal with. This one just might have to go on the shelf. Your review certainly only made me want to read it all the more.

This book sounds like it would be enlightening because it is written from a candid and straitforward point of view. I can appreciate and relate to Sarah's shock at finding out at such an advanced age something she should have, and maybe could have, found out at a much earlier age. If I were her I would feel betrayed. As the old saying goes "The truth hurts." The questions that are raised about being difficult make good sense and are ones we can all apply to ourselves in order to become better people. I would enjoy reading it and gaining insight into myself and others. Thank you for this review.

I read the sample of this book and your review. I like that the author describes herself as "a recovering difficult person." I think the author shows authority on this topic as well as good insight and research. I would be willing to read it based on your review and the well written sample.

Sounds like an interesting book and will surely be helpful for some people. It is also good that it is well-written by someone who knows what she is talking about. I, however, will not read it. I am not really into self-help books and I believe we are all different and experience people and situations differently. Thanks for a very good review, though.

This is surprisingly relatable - the commentary on the relationship between a mother and her daughters is particularly interesting and something I’d like to read more about. If you are brought up around sisters and not treated somewhat equally, there definitely is a sense that you become ‘difficult’ if you’re not the favoured child. I’m glad this lady was able to find happiness in friends and other family. Thank you for sharing your story!

what an interesting book have read but the title I didn't like what is a difficult person according to you I may suggest it was good for you and you had a reason I couldn't understand

I admire the author's candid sharing about her own faults, giving credibility to the lessons and tools she will share throughout the book. I'm drawn to the idea of creating conversations (as opposed to confrontations) to improve relationships. I'm interested to read this book to gain greater understanding of myself and how to better maintain clear relationships with others.

This is a wonderful book to help you on a journey of self discovery, how to communicate with others and to be more perceptive to our individual actions. I am not in the least bit surprised to find out the author didn’t know if her level of difficulty. It’s a sad truth that in our society, instead of letting others know what makes us uncomfortable or they are getting on our nerves, we avoid the situation and tend to gossip about it later. We do this I think to save the feelings of the one who is difficult, so as not to offend them. As a difficult persona myself I am always checkin myself to ensure I’m not going over the top. It’s also hard because instead of telling me I’m too much, I’ll instead get tuned out or ignored which only tends to make me feel like I’ve not been heard so I’ll repeat myself a hundred times until someone acknowledges me by saying “We heard you the first f****g time...” in my head I’m just like, “K well someone could have acknowledged me instead of ignoring me.” This book gives us the tools as to how to understand how to have successful communication with persons you otherwise find it difficult to be around. Highly recommended for those looking to expand their inter-personal skills

its awkward to live with people and you don't really understand what they see you as, but its awesome to have the one person that tells you the truth no matter what come out of it.

Denise being the one who let Sarah know the implications of her lifestyle is the game changer which led to the changing of her lifestyle and being honest with her difficult childhood.

This is a great review. I am most certainly interested in reading this book after reading the review. I feel that I can learn a lot about how to handle difficult people and so making my life a little bit easier. I like that there is some real life insight in this book from the author. Great job.

It’s great that her boss, Denise, was honest with her and told her what many people find it difficult to do. I think this book would be a great read for anyone. I think I may add this to my reading list.
