Your review is very interesting! I am curious to learn how this book critiques the dogmas of traditional Christian teachings and offers insights into the history of Christianity and its connection with other major religions whilst maintaining that the Jesus' teachings remain the moral compass.

The book delves into essential elements of Christian doctrine, such as Jesus's divinity, the virgin birth, Paul's teachings, the Trinity, and the concepts of heaven and hell. It also examines the impact of early church leaders and draws comparisons with major world religions to uncover similar views on divinity, morality, and the afterlife.

Christian Orthodoxy: A Closer Look seems like a deep dive into the history and evolution of Christian thought. I appreciate that it approaches theology in a way that’s both clear and thought-provoking, making complex topics accessible. This could be a great read for anyone interested in understanding the foundations of Christian beliefs from an objective perspective.

“Christian Orthodoxy: A Closer Look” by Joseph Grogan is a book that includes in-depth reviews of the doctrines and traditional teachings. Most Christians have been Christians since they were babies and over the years have learned the doctrines and teachings. What if our beliefs were based on teachings that have been edited and shaped by history and interpretation? The author provides an in-depth examination of the New Testament to authenticate the teachings. There are discrepancies and contradictions in the gospels even though Mark’s gospels are the basis for Matthew and Luke’s gospels, but Luke made significant changes. There is also a discrepancy on the time of day that Jesus was crucified. Readers must keep this in mind when they read the Bible, New Testament and other religious documents they would see the discrepancies and either accept the fact that many of the sources were passed down by word-of-mouth or just disbelieve them outright. There are errors in the Christian books and documents because of misinterpretations. I can accept that since I believe there is more to learn that may not be documented and/or are hidden away. Several books were not included in the New Testament because of no known proof of authenticity and could be exaggerated accounts. There is no guarantee that a gospel could contain errors. Only statements made by the Pope regarding doctrine are infallible. I have been a Christian all of my life and I want to read this book to learn the discrepancies and reasons for the differences. This could change my religious beliefs, but I will always think of these sacred books as the Word of God.

I am not follower of any official religion myself and, in my opinion, the faith couldn't be taught. Religion, as any spirituality, is extremely private and intimate subject. It must be born and raised from the bottom of someone's heart and soul, otherwise it could never be true. Apologies, I will have to pass, but still congratulations on BOTD!

From the review "CHRISTIAN ORTHODOXY" it challenges the present Christianity ,how it has been influenced by history and culture and now it's different from the original teachings of Christ. The book uses the bible to criticize the modern Christianity. It also talks about how salvation has changed to be according to different believes and religion. It's a great book that should be used to teach christians how they have gone astray from the original teachings of Christ.

This book challenges centuries old beliefs and the authenticity of the modern teachings of Christian Orthodoxy. The review is comprehensive and detailed. I understand that the reviewer found that the book was trying to cover too much ground, a wide range of topics; the new testament has a lot of teachings in it, it is only normal for the author to try to mention many themes.

The author challenges the modern Christian with his book. It's an eye-opener novel. Jesus's authentic message has been bent to fit into evolving culture. It should be received as he had said it and followed accordingly. The discrepancies in Gospel are pointed out.
