I really like that the author stresses love, understanding, and respect when child rearing, regardless of family structure. Unfortunately, too many children don't receive this kind of care. Thanks for the thorough review!

As a single mother I found a lot of the information was common knowledge that I already knew. It explained things really well. I think it would make a great book for parenting classes or even a good read for teenagers taking home ec. It is informative and the title was chosen perfectly.

I can relate to this book. Family really matters in a person's growth. The cookie from a grandparent is my favorite part. I wanted to know more about how the author doing catalog each family type.

Thanks for the very thorough review. It is nice to know that it is not textbook-like or definition heavy. That fact there are relevant examples and the writing style seems enjoyable encourages me to read the book past the few pages I sampled. Thanks again!

Thanks for the brilliant review. Nice to know this book is about family structures that exist in modern society and how family works. The traditional type of family contains parents and biological children. However, the present family may have foster parents, adopted children, or single parents. The book tells what are the requirements needed in the family to make it a safe, caring, and bonded shelter for children. I think this novel suits parents who like to have a well-knit family.

This sounds like a book that would benefit many people, not just parents; I'm hoping I'll find something useful in it. I like that positive communication with children it such a big aspect of this book. Thank you for your lovely review :)

It's nice to see a book that acknowledges that all family types have positive. I firmly believe that well rounded children need a strong family unit, no matter how small or large. I know that I can always use tips on raising my kids especially since my three youngest are now all teenagers.

This read to me more like a textbook, which I'm not fond of. I also found a handful of grammatical errors in the first ten pages, so I would disagree that it was exceptionally well edited! Overall this is not for me

I don't have children and do not work with them, so I don't know how useful this book will be to me directly. But I hope others benefit from it! Great review!

Families are important as the foundation of the society. This book offers examples of family types and styles of parenting, backed by proof of the well-being exhibited within a family. Great review VernaVi.

Different Family Structures by Mildred Stallworth seems different. Foster parenting is a very noble thing. I appreciate the author's thought. Thanks for the free copy.

Family structures don't really interest me that much, but it sounds like the author was very passionate about the subject and brought that devotion into the book which is something I always appreciate.

Different Family Structures needs to be read by everyone! I was really impressed by the sample and can't wait to read the rest of the book! Family structures are changing greatly in today's society, whether people like it or not. Knowledge is key to acceptance and/or understanding. :)
