Historical novels present a great opportunity to learn about life in the past. Slavery in any era is a difficult topic to countenance. The inclusion of a romance lightens the moods for the reader. Thanks for a great review.

It sounds like this book covered many difficult topics. It’s nice that the author balanced this historical fiction with a touch of romance. Thanks for a great review!

This seems to be an eye-opening read on slave trade and human rights violation. I find the author's portrayal of these issues to be very informative and rather well-researched. Thank you for the detailed review.

Congrats to Patrick Ntsima for BOTD honors. Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres, so "Confessions of a Llama" looks like it would be an interesting book, which appears to has more depth than the cover may indicate. The review was very informative and has drawn me to check out this book. Well done.

As the first South African Diplomat to Bolivia, Mr. Motara sure must have led an interesting and challenging life.

It seems to be a good historical fiction. The first person narrative makes it more engaging. Looking forward to reading it. Congrats on BOTD!

Great review. I still have one question though. Who's the llama? This suspense will literally drive me to read the book.

I am happy that what appeared to be over-description at long last turned out to b important in forming mental images of the conditions being described. Thanks a lot for the precise and informative review.

Confessions of a Llama is most definitely well put together. Very difficult to understand from the beginning but much more clear further into the story. It isn’t a book to relate to because of the pain that is brought to these slaves. Still an interesting story!

I can tell this is a book I really will not want to read. It's good that it covers the truths of life like human rights violations, human trafficking and things like that, but the topica are too disturbing for me to want to read. I see enough of it in the news and social media today. Congratulations on BOTD.

I am impressed how you depicted the summary of the book and tastefully included your opinion throughout. Im on the fence about the book as at first glance it didn't seem like it would be as interesting as your review shows.

Historical fiction revolving slave trade which reminds me of the book 'Twelve Years a Slave' by Solomon Northup. Interesting book which revealed the corrupted government system though in fiction ways. Definitely would read this one.

Official Review: Confessions of a Llama by Patrick Ntsime well explores the issue of hardships of a slave raised in the book! It enables the readers to identify themselves with the character Mr. Motara fighting for the cause of slaves. The point that human rights violations described in the book mirror our own current events is worth mentioning in the review!
