I’m usually not a fan of war stories, but the reviewer’s assurance that this is a particularly character focused one makes me think it could be more of interest than other more action-heavy war stories have been to me. Sounds like an empathetic and individual approach has been taken, which I can definitely get behind.

Historical fiction can prompt readers to contemplate what could have happened in their lives if certain events had occurred differently. Personally, it has encouraged me to reflect on my life and explore the various alternative paths that surround me. This makes the reading experience particularly thrilling. Your review is excellent and has piqued my interest in the story.

There is always something new to learn from historical fiction novels. This one being a quick read while focusing on other aspects of war other than violence makes it fascinating. Congratulations on BOTD!

As a historical fiction fan, it's good to read about American history in the 1700s. Jeremy was used to hunting animals as a preparation for the war and finds it difficult to shoot humans during wartime. I hope his choices during the war won't jeopardise his life. Congratulations BOTD!

I like that the author accurately portrayed the facts regarding the war. As the book dealt more with the minds of its character, it shows their inner turmoil. The toll that the war took on the people is portrayed through this story.

I love how storys rich historical fiction
It’s sad knowing young children are being trained to partake in wars in some parts of the world even though it affects them physically, mentally emotionally, kindness and psychologically. Its a big problem

The novel is relatively short in length, making for a quick read. Historical fiction is tricky to write because you have to keep to the facts while adding your spin to it. The events of that time in American history and its facts check out.
-You've got my attention. By the way wonderful review. Thank you.

A war story based book "The shot not heard around the world" by Charlie damitz, which is about young Jeremy who partook in war during seventeen seventies. This book appears to be a good entertainer.

You're right about historical fiction being tricky to write. I'm finicky about fidelity to historical facts, but I'm also impressed when a fiction is weaved into them. It seems here that the author gets the balance between facts and fiction right by using a compelling device; Jeremy's dilemma. What a weight on a boy's shoulder that is!
