What I read of the beginning was quite humorous. It's interesting to know that care givers aren't compensated very well.

As a nurse, this book caught my attention right away. It's true that caregivers are so often underpaid and under-appreciated, despite the fact that they provide such a vital service. I liked the writer's almost lyrical style of writing, though I found it a bit distracting that the story kept moving backward in time (at least the sample did). It was a bit hard to follow, but overall a very interesting read!

As someone who is pursuing a career in the health field, I am very interested in reading about the environment Christopher Bulteel finds himself in. Thorough and interesting review!

This looks nice in general, I may have to give it a shot when I have some free time, but right now, not something I'd put on top of my list.

I feel like that's my life, I take care of my grandmother it has now been two years but its not easy caregivers r heroes. I like the way the writer bought out the all meaning of the caregiver and what they go through

It sounds like an amazing story about people who do so much, yet are recognized so little. Thank you for the great review. I definitely want to read this book.

I enjoyed your review and you presented the book very well. It is unfortunate that care workers, much like teachers, have the most important jobs and are paid the poorest. It is inspirational how they do not let this interfere with the care they give to their clients.
Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs, is good for him.

This does sound quite interesting. It's not easy making a career change at age 53, much less the particular one of caring for the elderly as a full time job.I really commend the author's self sacrificing spirit. I have fair interest in non fiction books and haven't come across this type which appeals to me as this one does. Would love to check it out. Thanks for the review.

Is not easy to be a careworker. Sometimes they are the ones saving lives. And it's true they are often unseen. Great review. Congratulations on BOTD

As an adviser to the CNA program for a community college I learned just how hard these caregivers work and how little they are paid. This review reminded me of the students I guided through the program and the stories they would tell. It sounds like this book is a very personal telling of the daily life of this caregiver and it would be informative as well as an inspiring read. I like that a style of humor is mentioned as I believe the best caregivers must have a positive outlook on life and a sense of humor to do the job they do.

Thanks for the review! I'm currently making my way through this book myself for the fun of it because I thought the premise and the few chapters at the beginning were incredibly interesting. I don't have any experience with care workers myself, but I was interested in hearing about the events that take place throughout their careers. I found the stories to be very enjoyable, as you did, and I can't wait to see what else the book has in store.

Trust me, I'm a care giver

The descriptions bring everything to life,'spot on' as the Brits would say. Anyone, professional or related, who is handling and caring for someone with dementia, short term memory loss, and possibly depression, should find it easy to relate. Chris, the care worker, shares his personal experiences with touching compassion.
