Code Name Lily is historical fiction telling the story of one woman, part of the Belgium resistance during WWII, that helped over 250 airman shot down by the Germans. The story is even more powerful because these resistance fighters actually existed. Congratulations to the author for your exciting story and for being chosen as BOTD. Thanks to the reviewer for your excellent review.

It is interesting those stories about people who helped a lot in World War II and that movies and books are generally not told about it. Code Name Lily was very useful for many saving lives of the allies, especially in Belgium in general when the allies left their downed planes. I want to read it.

Books about war are not my cup of tea but this one seems to be pretty interesting. There were lots of dedicated, brave people during the war that have contributed greatly to its course, have done pretty much helping to end this war and whose stories deserve to be known by everyone like that of Lily's. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Iwould love to read this historical fiction. It's a pitty about the repetitions throughout the read. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the insightful review. I'm not a fan of historical fiction books, but you have portrayed this book as an interesting read and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I enjoy stories with strong female protagonists like Lily. It sounds like you connected with the book despite the minor flaws.

Historical fiction is not part of the genres I enjoy so I will find it difficult to enjoy this novel. From your review, you enjoyed this novel and that is all that matters.

One of my favorite parts about historical fiction is learning new aspects of old stories. I had no idea that smuggling downed airmen was a part of WWII, although in hindsight it seems logical - what a thrilling premise! This book gives me vibes along the lines of "Sarah's Key", which I loved. The split timeline setup enriches and fleshes out both stories. Thank you for your review.

Even though the story jumps around quite a bit, it sounds like an interesting read. I like that the author has created a historical fiction book about war, but set in a modern timeline. I love these types of stories where the character uncovers a family secret. Thanks for the wonderful review!

Great review. I to love historical fiction and anything related to WWII. I like how more information of the smaller parts people took to save lives is revealed. Is important to know all the little people. I will put this on my list.

Unlike the reviewer, I’m not a big historical fiction fan...however, this review has really piqued my interest! This book sounds like the right amount of suspense and action to capture my imagination. Thanks for the review!
