This is an inspirational psychological nonfiction book highlighting counseling, evolution, modern civilization, and innate emotional intelligence. The book is temporarily discounted on Amazon Kindle and has an inciteful OnlineBookClub review. Congrats on the BOTD selection.

I have read this book, and Yea, it was very thought provoking for me. In fact, i was torn between accepting the truth it reveals about the present-day lifestyle and rejecting some of the propositions it holds out as solution. Like you rightly said, the notion of freedom is overly romantised in this book. Nevertheless it is a great book, and it was a great read for me.
Your review is great and it gives the book even a clearer overview. Kudos!

It is true that sometimes, some indigenous tribes or long-ago tribes are living or have lived more simple and practical ways compared to modern civilization, especially when one thinks about the destructive ways of modern society. Thanks for the great review.

The development of civilization has proven to be harmful to the mental and spiritual health of modern manThis is a wonderful self help book that makes an accurate diagnosis of some evils that plague individuals in Western countries.
The review is superb.

I don't read self-help books as I used to. This one seems overly philosophical anyways. So, I think I will pass. The premise has merit. But I think in everything we can find positives and negatives. "Loving revolution" is the part that really puts me off reading this book. Great job with the review.

Self-help book are generally not my cup of tea, and this one simply does not seem like something I would enjoy. I believe readers of this genre would find it more beneficial.

I do not think of it as a western problem, but a problem that is worldwide. From the review and the sample, I have concluded this book is not for me. I do not agree that marriage automatically is oppressive to women and the idea that humans will automatically perceive a difficulty. Some of is other ideas seem ludicrous, although simplistic is a nicer way to put it. Thanks for the excellent review on this book.

I am in agreement that we are slaves to our lifestyles. I was hoping the author would also address the environmental issues that come from our individualism. But I am baffled by the statement that marriage is oppressive to women. I am a woman, happily married, without any feeling of oppression. I'm still intrigued to learn what the author bases this statement upon.

I'm glad I've read this book that takes a very different look at our lives & civilisation. There are many things in this book with which readers may not fully agree, but they will find a lot of wisdom in it.
