Re: Food in books anyone?
I love bookish food. Whenever I read about a meal in a book, I have this urge to cook it. It doesn't matter if it's something daily, or a unique meal, created for this book and it's universe. For example, the last book I finished was Hard as it gets by Laura Kaye, from the Hard Ink series. There the characters were preparing and enjoying Sloppy Joe. I'm not that much of a fan of this kind of cuisine, but after reading about it, I really wanted to cook it - and next thing I know, I'm on my way buying beef. XD
For now, my favourite book with yummies must be Sunshine by Robin MacKinley. This book has me drooling everytime I reread it. And god bless the authors who share the recepes for their written meals. Same goes for the fans who create new ones based on the books.
There is this Outlander kitchen blog I am following where I die to try all the recepes, but for now I realise some are out of my level. I have few special cook books - Nanny Ogg's from the Discworld, and a Doctor Who one. Oh, and I have saved a number of LotR and Harry Potter recepes.
Thank you for all the recommendations! I will have those yummies in my tbr list!
And to keep things going, what is the last book that made you want to cook (or at least eat)?
