Definitely a theme for the times. Fighting prejudice is hard no matter who the people. Grabbed my copy thanks for making it free. Congrats on being BOTD.

What a well-written review and what perfect timing for such a book - not that prejudice has not always existed. Thanks to the internet we face it every day. Fred Howard seems to have written an insightful story that drags these dark horrors into the light of day. Good job - both author and reviewer.

Great review. I think that this book could one day be read in schools in relation to the book To Kill A MockingBird. The book addresses prejudices that are in today's society so the children could directly relate to the situation.

as I progressed throughout the book I realized that I would need to think deeply about the views I held about certain groups of people and whether these views were valid.

The official review on Children of Covenant gave a pretty full synopsis of the book. In today's world it takes a pretty close look at prejudices that are held by people in all walks of life, the consequences of them, and incites the reader to take a good look inward.

Yep I agree with you @kandscreeley. We all have prejudices that we are unaware of. These form subconsciously within our minds due to things that happen around us and the things that we have gone through.
And getting rid of them is a tough job.

I loved To Kill A Mockingbird, and this book sounds like it uses similar concepts with new original ideas. Thanks for the review - made me even more intrigued to read it!

This feels like a very heavy read, and one with a lot of passion and meaning to it. I'm not sure I would enjoy reading this because it is so dark, but it certainly seems like a very worthwhile and powerful read.

i liked how this book presented how prejudiced most people are and how set they are in their own ways and beliefs that they refuse to grant others the freedom to do otherwise. its an accurate description of most of our societies today.

Thank you for writing such a thorough review. It's not often that an author writes a novel
that focuses on the effects of prejudiced opinions in a community. Especially with the
effects resulting in events such as poverty, suicide, discrimination and the list goes on.
I look forward to reading the book, to me it seems like at least one reason to learn more about
tolerance of the differences of other people and the world around us.
