I read the sample pages and was intrigued. The authors writing style is perfect. He touches on a lot of sensitive topics and goes straight to the point. There is nothing I like more than straight to the point. Thanks for this great review.

The first time I saw the book's title, I felt quite frankly drawn in. Judging from the review above, It appears it touches on some sensitive themes. But will I read it? I honestly haven't decided.

This one tackles tough, but important, themes such as acceptance, gay sexuality, mental health, depression, rejection, fear, suicide, loss, grief, and love. Lovers of the coming-of-age genre will love this one.

It seems to be quite interesting book since it's written from a personal experience with topics we can relate on at different levels. After reading the preview, I can already tell it's one of those books I can connect to at a deep level. I'm going to add it to my list of books to read.

This sounds like a book that could easily be thought provoking on several levels. I like how you were able to list the many features of memoir whereas many would possibly focus on the sexuality theme. I find it rare that authors speak highly of their parents and find that to make this an exceptional book.

The book seems to have some great insight into the live of the author. I love the part of his parent. Our parent are just special. I will love to read from the book. There might be one or two things to learn. Nice review.

There is nothing more powerful than an idea that grows in your mind like a seed. When you push the idea it is to know where it came from but if the idea develops by itself in your mind and grows is almost impossible to eradicate. That’s a good book does, makes you think and brings an idea that you need to discover with focus and attention.
Great subject and vision in this book.

It is a very sensitive issue and to which a lot can relate to. A coming-of-age story where all the the problems are being addressed is one that I am looking forward to dig into and find out how the protagonist would resolve each one. Nice book cover by the way.

Thanks for another insightful review. I have a question for you: you said that the protagonist blamed himself for not asking about the medicine that made his mother's hair fall out But . . . he would have been 12 to 13. That seems a bit old to be oblivious to the significance of what was going on with his mother. Did you find that element believable? It sounds like a very well-written book. Thanks again for your review, @Cecilia_L. I always enjoy your well-written reviews.
