Addressing the source of the heavy equipment would indeed have been good. The book sounds interesting, though, and I look forward to learning what each of them used what they received for. Many thanks for the fascinating review!

The content of this book seems very cute! Although, the thought of children handling heavy machinery in real life is scary! As a child, I remember eagerly awaiting my turn to drive one of those mini plastic cars in pre-school. I'm sure children will thoroughly enjoy the book. Congrats on the BOTD!

I love how you pointed out the use of onomatopoeias in large, colorful letters! That sounds like such a fun, creative way to bring sounds to life on the page. It's details like that that would really capture kids' imagination

This books seems to be awesome from your description of how the kids were attached to their equipments and loved the idea of ownership, Luke, Mikey and others learning more on how to handle the machine is interesting, though am left to think whether these equipments the kids found in their yards were smaller, the right size of kids or were they really the normal size of big machinery . It really feels like a colorful book with bright illustrations and wordings that would be captivating and fun for the kids thus a must read.

What a thrill for these friends to find all those building machinery in their back yards and embark on an adventure building a road the the ice cream stand and Mr Popsivcle thanking them because they've built a direct path to his ice-cream stand, which inerhent helps his bussiness as well. The mistakes Mikey made with the steamroller is humorous and what's great is that his friends are understanding that it takes a lot of practice to drive that type of equipment and that teach kids that making mistakes is vital to be able to learn out of them. I did not find any typos, so it shows that this book was professionaly edited. I love the bright illustrations, the colors jumps off the pages, so this wil have great appeal with kids. It's also written in easy short sentences, so it keeps the attention on the book. I've enjoyed this book for children, I believe children will enjoy this just as much.

This book is awesome for it draws the interest of young ones with good pictures, which are easy to read and follow through without readind the words, that keeps them in this drive move feeling of wanting more of it. It is short and simple to follow through, having the same aline with a cartoon known as 'poptrake'.This is the best book for the day

After reading the book, I absolutely agree with the point that there is a minute lack of conflict in the story, and would go further to wonder about the sense of responsibility, or lack thereof, that Luke and his friends seem to demonstrate on their adventures. But again, reading the book with the eyes of a child, I can appreciate the many beautiful aspects of the book showed on this well written review. Well done on it.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on "The Day I Had a Bulldozer" by Ashley Wall. Your review provides a clear insight into the book's strengths and potential areas for improvement.

It's evident that you enjoyed the professional illustrations and the playful use of onomatopoeias, which added to the childlike and fun atmosphere of the book. Your mention of Mikey's steamrolling adventures and the relatability of children dreaming about owning construction equipment highlights the book's appeal to its target audience.

I enjoyed reading this, I would have probably read this when my boys were 3-4 and used different voices to make it even more interactive. It is a great story about the active imagination Luke and his friends Noah, Mikey and Emma have, including the mishaps that Mikey has with the steamroller!!! A great adventure for the minds of little children, with some talking points that are educational. Glad I downloaded it, congratulations on #BOTD.

If I had not read the book; your review would have inspired me to read it. I also wondered how the heavy equipment was received and then at the end I saw the toy dump truck and the toy bulldozer in his hands and I remembered it was his imagination. Your review covers every aspect of the story, including the unique formatting which I also thought that it would be a bit challenging for a child to follow, although makes for a good read aloud book for an adult to read to children.
