Fans of mystery and detective stories will have to figure out the real culprit in today's BOTD. Was the latest victim killed due to unfaithfulness? How is it related to the prior murder? This intriguing novel features a setting in an oil well, where at least one murder took place.

The way the murder mystery unfolds in "Derrick of Death" kept me on the edge of my seat. The author's skill in crafting red herrings added a layer of suspense that made the ending all the more satisfying.

I appreciated how Lerma seamlessly integrated technical details about drilling into the narrative. It's rare to find a mystery that educates without overwhelming, and the dynamic between characters facilitated a smooth learning experience.

The plot seems pretty intricate and mysterious. Charlie's character as a female oil rig manager is even more interesting and new.

I am fascinated by Charlie's job at Triple Play as an oil rig manager. I am intrigued by the death of the unfaithful wife of one of the senior members of Triple Play. I am interested in learning if the aforementioned death and the death of 'a friend of theirs' is connected.

The author did a good job developing the story line so much that the readers will only find out what was going on, and who the killer was until the author feels the readers should know. Also, I like the fact that the book explained the technical aspect of drilling so much that a new person will understand and probably pick up a job in that field.
