Indeed, who we are and what we are is mostly in the mind, beyond our skin colour, ethnicity or religion. Knowing this wil help avoid much of the tribalism, discrimination and religious wars. I'm glad someone wrote a book that sheds some light on this.
Thank you for the review.

Hi @Omobolanle Savage, I like your comments on Beyond the Golden Door. I am reading the entire book. Ali's view of America made me proud to be an American. Sadly, the hateful rhetoric by politicians and white supremacists is destroying this vision of shared values and freedoms. Immigration policy reform is needed but it should not keep hard working people from immigrating to the U,S. safely and peacefully. We all came from immigrants that were escaping religious prosecution or just wanted a better life for their families. @Mrlefty0706

I like that the author discusses race relations and the issue about immigration. I like that the book is inspirational and is suitable for both Christians and Muslims. Thanks for the review.

Hi @Amy_Jackson, this is an incredible book that should be read by all Americans. The hate speech by our politicians and the white supremacists really upsets me. The American Dream is for all immigrants, no matter their race, color or religion. Sadly, it was easier for a Muslim to immigrate to the U.S. before 2020. All hard-working immigrants should be allowed to enter the U.S. based on a reformed immigration policy that does not discriminate against race, color or religious beliefs. @Mrlefty0706

Hi @ Amy_Jackson, as voters we need to drive the hate mongers, white supremacists and the representatives and Senators that do not speak for their constituents and stay in the job for the power and greed, out f office in November 2024. Immigration policy reform is ready for review and passage but Mike Johnson will not let it pass because the previous president told him no. The previous president so have no say in it. If the bill achieves most or all of what is needed then it should be passed by the House and Senate. To make it a campaign issue and do not do anything for 13 months is totally wrong. Maybe the Senate should tell the House that they will not pass the American tax credit and business tax credit plan already approved by the House if the House does not pass the Immigration reform bill that the Senate is ready to pass. Trump should not have a say in the legislation. I do not recall President Obama trying to control the House or Senate during Trump's one term that was filled with mayhem. If the House of Representatives do not represent their constituents, then they should be voted out. @Mrlefty0706

I find "Beyond the Golden Door: Seeing the American Dream through an Immigrant's" compelling, given Ali Master is a Muslim from Pakistan. It'd be eye-opening to learn about his 32 years of experience in America from from point of view.

Also, the line "...to communicate that being an American is not about ethnicity, religion, or the color of your skin. Rather, it's a state of mind. It's our shared values and freedoms that make us uniquely American" definitely piques my interest.

"Seeing the American Dream through an Immigrant's Eyes" is a great subtitle that tells the reader exactly what the book is about; a perspective, I'm sure, that many would find informative, inspiring, or even relate to. Thanks for the review!

Hi @ Muzamil Khan 6, I really liked your comments on the sample and the official review. I think this is an excellent book. I ordered a paper copy of the book since I want to share it with friends. It is well-written and right on target. Sadly, Americans do not appreciate what we have and the hard right radicals are willing to give it up for a dictatorship that I believe will cause a civil war. Immigrants today, like in the early 1900s appreciate what America has to offer. White Supremacists and other spewers of hate should leave our country. @Mrlefty0706

His viewpoint sounds distinct. I've never heard of a Muslim Pakistani immigrant to the United States of America. I have no idea how simple or difficult things were back then. I appreciate that the author encourages his readers to learn from his mistakes rather than letting them experience what he did.

I was somewhat intrigued to learn about the significance of the golden door. Even though "golden" sounds noble and valuable, the author seems to be hinting at other, highly intriguing, and expertly constructed possibilities.

Hi @Muzamil Khan 6, I enjoyed the book sample and official review that I have ordered a paper copy of the book. Ali Masters wrote an incredible book that should make readers that have grown up in the U.S. realize what a wonderful country they live in. Too many people take everything for granted, instead of appreciating everything they have and the opportunity to succeed in a democratic society. Many countries do not give opportunities to people that are not middle or upper class. The American Dream is one that immigrants believe and they come to the U.S. for a better life. @Mrlefty0706
