This is a good review, and important that you noted, The Date Farm is the fourth installment in a series. I oftentimes feel the need to return to earlier books or episodes to get situated in the story and character development. Glad to know that’s not the case here!

The plot you described is intriguing, although I couldn’t get past the first two pages with the grammatical errors. Slight as they were, they were distracting.

“The Date Farm” by Jack Winnick is his 4th incredible geopolitical thriller in the Lara and Uri 5-book series. This fictional, but based on historical data, terrorist attack occurs in a Beverly Hills shopping mall where 48 innocent teens and young adults are killed and hundreds more were injured by a group of terrorists, dressed in black, that set off bombs and tossed gas grenades into the crowd blinding and gaging the people having a fun time listening to music after the mall was closed, and then opened fire on the crowd with automatic weapons. When their ammunition was exhausted, they pulled out pistols and shot themselves in the head. They had been led to believe that their attacks would guarantee them an automatic entry into paradise. Meanwhile, the security of the Dept. of Defense and DHS was breached and the Federal Reserve and Chase Manhattan Bank were also attacked. One needs to read the book to learn the reasons for the horrible attacks and who is the mastermind behind the killing of innocent people. Each of Winnick’s books can be read in any order but I believe readers will enjoy the series more if they read the books in order. I highly recommend all five of Winnick’s well written action thrillers. Hold onto your seat, this book will be hard to put down.

The Lara and Uri series is always a fascinating read. In this fourth installment, the crime-fighting duo are tasked with investigating a mall bombing and infiltrating a terrorist network.

Like previous installments, the fourth book is well-researched and impressively detailed with vivid imagery.

NetMassimo wrote: 28 Nov 2023, 15:50 I read the first two Lara and Uri thrillers, so I had the chance to see Jack Winnick's fantasy in creating plots inspired by the real terrorist threats against the USA and Israel. I know that the other sequels are great as well, so I plan to read them all. Thank you for your great review!
I can not wait to start the series from the beginning.

Agents Lara and Uri are on a peaceful date at their farm when news of the Beverly Hills mall bomb blast reaches them. They were called in for duty. The author portrays teamwork well. A layman reader can understand how homeland security works while reading this book.
