I am currently reading "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and after many failed attempts at starting now find I can't put it down! His writing is quite different isn't it. It was a bit slow to go anywhere (for me) at first but now I am enjoying the ride and the little factual snippets Stieg Larsson slips in to the story to educate his readers. Cleverly done.

I just finished two: Finding Grade, by Donna VanLiere, and Traveling with Pomegranates, by mother-and-daughter duo Sue Monk Kidd and Ann Kidd Taylor. Both really resonated with where I am in my life right now.

Great book. Very different from anything else HST ever wrote. If you read anything of the Fear And Loathing stuff first this book just totaly blindsides you

Hello, I am reading Life: A Users Manual by Georges Perec. It's amazing. I'm also reading Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin just for a laugh.

I've got that on my To Read List myself. Love Gaiman's stuff. Anansi's Boys was amazing. I've moved on to reading Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill (which actually held up better than his short collection 20th Century Ghosts, but still not great. good in an 80s Nightmare on Elm Street kinda way) and am now reading Dead Zone by Stephen King. I'm getting Under the Dome for Xmas and am going to try to get through the 7 SK books I have left before I get it

Isn't Joe Hill the name that Stephen King's son uses as his pen name?

Yeah, that wold be SKs son. His writing is even a bit similar to his dad's but just not as strong. He only has two books and a couple criticaly acclaimed comic series, so he still has time to flesh out and streamline his own style. Tabitha, Joe's mother, is also a writer. I geuss it's in the blood.

I am 150 pages in and I love it so far. I have never read Crichton before but this book has been great so far.

The most recent book that I have read was Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich. I didn't really care for the book actually. I found it boring and repetitive.

Currrently I am reading Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. I've been trying to finish this one for awhile but with classes and work its hard to find the time to read sometimes.

I didn't like the book either. The only part I did like was the end where she actually talked about people's struggles instead of sounding like a princess about cleaning floors and working at Wal-Mart. I think people do what they have to do to survive and pay their bills, and she did a poor job of bringing light to the struggles of poverty in America.
