I'm excited to read this book. I enjoy new-age fairytales. I feel I can relate to this character, though I also enjoy dressing up and other femine things. The idea or choice verse faith is a good thing to highlight in a children's book.

Loving the positive girl power message and the idea of a “damsel who is never in distress.” This is a clever portrayal of a fairytale, and I like how this could be appealing to a wide range of ages. While there does seem to be some romance involved, it’s not what we would usually expect, and I like how it presents the difficulties of making choices. Figuring out how to choose between “heart” and “duties,” and perhaps even “heart” and “head,” is tough, but it is definitely something that we all must face. Hopefully, though, like Nadira, we are able to face our challenges head-on. Definitely a book that I'm interested in reading! Congrats on the BOTD!

This modern version fairy tale is definitely a nice read. The story of Nadira, a girl who loves competing with the boys, is a nice story for young people. However, this is not my genre, and I'll pass it on.

The young population needs more books like this one where they can read on how to become more independent, straightforward, reasonable, smart, and overall how to behave well. Nice review.

The story has all elements of a typical fairy tale. There is a charming prince, an evil witch, a wicked queen and so on and so forth. However, what sets this story apart is the damsel who is never in distress. She is independent, has very strong opinions about many things and never has to be rescued by her knight in shining armor. In fact, the Prince himself encourages Nadira to take part in a competition that is traditionally meant for boys.
That's a great spin on traditional fairytales and it presents a much better role model for little girls that will face today's world.
Thank you for your enthusiastic review!

I'm not interested in fairy tales and children's books, but I definitely love the fact that the main character is such a powerful girl. I like how it's not a traditional tale in which the main character, as a female, is just a princess of some sort. Nadira takes matters into her own hands. I would not recommend it to the female population in particular, though. I'd recommend it to everyone interested in children's books. It would be great if there were more children's books with such female characters, in my opinion :)
