This book sounds like a fascinatingly honest journey through entrepreneurial ups and downs! I'm really intrigued by how LaMagna turned his failures into lessons that led to success. The personal anecdotes and practical advice make it seem like a truly insightful and engaging read. I'd love to see how his "failed entrepreneur" story turns into a "getting it right" one! Congrats BOTD!

Non fiction books are not my cup of tea but I have read the review and the book sounds very informative and quite interesting. It is a frank and sometimes humorous account of how you should learn from your mistakes and make the most of them. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

It is incredible that Dal LaMagna finally came to understand and appreciate the lesson he had received early on in his young age. Indeed, failure provides important lessons that can often be opportunities for improvement and stepping stones, rather than becoming insurmountable obstacles. The book is already on my to-read shelf. Many thanks, @Cecilia_L, for the review.

This book sounds like a resourceful and informative read. It would be a great resource to entrepreneurs venturing towards building their business. And I believe it can be valuable to anyone who wants to learn insights about the business world, they don't necessarily have to be an entrepreneur. Thanks for the free copy.

This book is right up my alley. I have been in direct sales most of my adult life. The importance of the author saying he got where he was from learning from all the failures can be applied to all of our lives. Starting out in one room and doing all the work himself was something I can relate to. It doesnt have to be a huge investment to start your business. I can't wait to read the rest of the book with the financial plans and advice. It will definitely help me in pursuing my goal in working for myself.

This is a solid, well-balanced review that highlights both the strengths and minor flaws of the book. I like how it captures the entrepreneurial journey without giving away too much, and the personal tone makes it relatable.

Dal LaMagna possessed the entrepreneurial drive, but by the time he graduated from Harvard Business School, he was deeply in debt due to several costly blunders he made in his business endeavors. He attributes his early failures to the lessons he learned about exercising caution and focus, as he said "I believe my failures to be as important as my later accomplishments because it is there that the seeds of success for Tweezerman are deeply rooted." Very very good BOTD.

LaMagna’s story stood out because he not only acknowledged his mistakes, but he also learned to capitalize on them. This was illustrated throughout the book. For instance, LaMagna wasn't accepted to Harvard when he graduated from high school despite his straight-A average. When he attended Providence College, he didn't apply himself, was almost expelled, and started eleven unsuccessful businesses. However, he began keeping a scrapbook that documented his failures. It was a letter summarizing these failures, including the statement: "This compulsive capitalist seeks your knowledge and guidance" that gained him acceptance to graduate school at both Harvard and Columbia.
- A highly unusual way that ultimately led to the author's success and therefore he was not embarrassed to share it with the reader. I applaude him and the reviewer. Thank you for your informative and unwavering thoughts.
