A person's testimony has such power and capacity to plant seeds for Christ! I think that it is easy to believe the lie that our story is not valuable or could not help anyone (or that it might just make things reeeeally awkward if I mention something deep), but I think that's one of the biggest ways that Satan tries to put a wrench in God's work and keeps us from being active in sharing the message of Christ. While I did enjoy a lot of the author's words, analyses, and guiding questions, it was the stories that hit me the hardest. I was able to relate with some of the women, and that made the wisdom of what the author was saying ring out all the louder, which I believe was the author's intention all along.
Beautifully said. In fact, did you know that Malachi 3 reveals that God values words spoken in defense of Him so much that they are recorded in Heaven? Malachi 3:16 says: “Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.”

I agree. How often we feel alone in our situation and see no way out. But listening and reading about other similiar or even more difficult times we can get strengeth. Someone might gain compassion, someone might gain perspective both reading this testimonies is really powerful.

I think this book is a great reminder of this statement.

Yes! Never give up. Who was it that said, "It's not the number of times you get knocked down, but whether you keep getting back up"?
Was it Dolly Parton? Lol...I find a lot of wisdom from that woman. I don't know who said it but it is a great quote.

I learnt that God's grace is ever sufficient no matter the situations we are in. Therefore, we should always look unto Him for help and guidance.

The lesson I learned before but I confirmed it that you can get over everything and nothing seems impossible with your faith in God.

I certainly agree with you,God have reasons for everything. We shouldn't see our past as a liability. You are very correct.

I learnt that if we have a positive outlook on life, then we will see that every challenge is only there to draw us closer to God. Every of life's challenge is there only for the maker to Glorify Himself in our lives. We should learn to hold strongly to our faith in Him.

I learn that God's word is powerful and efficient in time of need. Also the understanding of grace is important in the life of a Christian to stick to God.

I think it takes a special kind of grace to be a steadfast Christian in good times. Your life is smooth sailing and you want for nothing. I often wonder if it's because most people are taught to view God as a benevolent giver that keeps on giving. So when there is no problem, there is basically no need to seek him.

I agree with all of my fellow readers who have commented on this topic before me. The lesson that I learned from this book is that the past should not define, but be a lesson to inform your present and future decisions. I also think that in times of abuse people lose faith in God and attempt to shy away from him. In order to receive healing, you need a place of sanctuary.
