I concur with the reviewer who said you cannot say you have forgiven someone when you still feel the pain of the ill treatment you received from that person or people involved. In life we should be careful of our decisions and act wisely. A nice review.

This sounds like a poignant read. I am very curious about what tore this family apart after moving to America. I can only imagine the pain of your children being in foster care! Although this is an emotional read, I will probably read it because I have many questions just from reading the review! Thank you for the awesome review!

Beyond the Clouds, the Sky is Blue's tragic story of poverty, tragedy, and familial dislocation is made more compelling by the fact that it's a true story. And it's a timely story as well. I think the sudden rise in inflation in many countries in the world this year will compel many readers to feel more empathetic toward the financial struggles of the Ortiz family.

Today's BOTD is a coming of age story that spans three generations of the Ortiz family as they emigrate from Puerto Rico to Kauai. Readers who enjoy stories about hardship, growth, forgiveness, and healing will definitely want to pick this one up! I've downloaded my copy; thank you for the helpful review! :-)

I like the dose of reality that follows the destiny of the Ortiz family. Although their life in America started well, everything soon turned upside down. I like how thought-out the character of Maria is. Reading recommendation.

Definitely not up to my tastes, because true-life story, same memoirs, never interested me as potential reading material, unless it describes the path which helped to build and develop the talent of an author or artist, inventor or creator of any ingenious work. Apologies, but I see nothing of alike in this book and prefer to pass it. Still, congrats on BOTD!

The saying that "the grass is always greener on the other side" aptly capture the theme of this memoir. Ortiz family might have been better of if they had not moved to America. Thanks for the review.
