I agree with several of the teachings on this book, like the importance of gratitude and community, and I´m interested in the spiritual part. However, it´s the self-help part that isn´t my cup of tea.
I´ll keep this book in a maybe status.

Thanks so much for stopping by, gali.gali wrote: ↑10 Aug 2018, 10:05 A self-help book revolving around one woman's spiritual awakening sounds uplifting. Sounds like the book contains some good concepts, such as positive thinking and using our "inner light" to achieve happiness and self-fulfillment. Too bad about the "incongruence in the area of spirituality". I do not care for New Age spirituality, but I am glad you found it beneficial. Thank you for the review.

Yes, this book is very spiritual but definitely not Biblical in nature. I do appreciate you taking a look at my review. Much appreciated.stacie k wrote: ↑10 Aug 2018, 10:06 Although it would be interesting to learn about one woman’s journey of finding her source of health, happiness, and spirituality, I would struggle with the non-Biblical teachings. Therefore, this book is not for me. Thanks for sharing the information, though. I did enjoy your review!

Wow! Your review is thoughtful, comprehensive and complex. You gave so much good information. I would like to read about Caarna's spiritual experiences and take on life but appreciate your objective perspective on her beliefs. Specifically, whether or not she can influence the weather! (Sorry, a very small joke.) Keep writing great reviews!

You are right. This book is very uplifting but could have used some context to place it within familiar contexts. Thank you for dropping by.Britty01 wrote: ↑10 Aug 2018, 10:14 I was thinking on those lines as I read this very well detailed review. From what I have read she sounds like a very positive, caring individual who has devoted much of her life to healing and spirituality. There is a lot of positive messages here and I believe it will probably resonate with others.

I definitely understand your perspective. I have a similar relationship to the Law of Attraction. My feeling it that the core teaching of the Law of Attraction is sound but has been misinterpreted as a strict cause and effect formula, and it really isn't that simple. I can appreciate that the energy I put out there will generally draw that energy back to me, but I reject the oversimplified interpretation. It truly doesn't leave much room for understanding the "starving children" scenario. Thanks for the great comment and I appreciate you dropping by.10mile72 wrote: ↑10 Aug 2018, 10:24 I have a problem with books that teach “that we are the absolute creators of everything in our lives, the good and the bad.” I know about “The Laws of Attraction” and I don’t buy into it (even though my wife swears by it!) It seems like just a matter of blaming the victim. What about starving children? Did they create that reality for themselves? Come on. Thanks for the review, Eva.![]()
