Re: 2017 Reading Challenge

I think I probably read about a book a week. So let's go with 50 and see if I can make it. I LOVE the idea of purchasing and reading at least one book a month from a local bookseller. Unfortunately our only local bookstore down here at the beach is Books A Million....but I guess that will make it cheap!

For OnLineBookClub, how is this challenge recorded? I participate in Goodreads, my books are counted there. I post daily on my blog, my books are counted there. For this site, how and where are the books counted?

I was such an avid reader growing up. I would read well into the night and get into lots of trouble for it. I could ready a 12-book series in three weeks. I'd love to get back to that kind of reading! I think I will set myself a goal of 50 for the year, but I will try to exceed that for sure!

I'm planning to read at least 50 this year. Last year I set my goal at 75 and couldn't read more than 67, and I hate not being able to finish my challenge. So, I'll go with a safe number and hope to surpass it.

I am already five books into the new year, so I'm going to try to read 60 books this year. I think that five books a month is a reasonable goal for the Reading Challenge.

I've never set a reading goal for myself, never even kept track of the amount of books read, so I'm going to start with a high 200 and use it as a reference for a more realistic goal next year.

I set a reading goal of 90 books this year. But it's a little more complex for me. See, at least half of what I read has to be a physical copy and another 5 has to be of a philosophical nature. :)

I plan to read and listen to books in Portuguese this year, right now I have list a of four books and I plan to find more audiobooks (Portuguese from Portugal accent).
I think I also want to go back to the classics I studied at the university when I studied English(Spanish is my first language), so Jane Austen's six novels are on the list.I also plan to listen and read these books, but I will see hw far I can go with that...

I'm going to say 30 books not counting manga. I've fallen behind reading but putting a commitment out there will give it weight.

Hi everyone!
I'm setting it at 60. But I really hope to beat myself and get to 80!

I am aiming for 50 books, I am starting back up school full time and working 20-30 hours a week so I don't want to aim too high.

I was sitting the other day and I thought I should start reading more. I realized that when I go to the library, I end up getting too many books that I would not read. I have never done a reading a challenge before, so I am going to start with the reading one book a month. If this works out well, I will increase the books I read per month. This month I read The Lord of the Rings and next month I will read the Hillbilly Elegy.
