I like to read because I can learn new things and it's like a whole new world that I didn't imagine before. A lot of books go into my dreams, so they make my dreams more exciting too. A lot of times I realize I am dreaming in my dream, and everything is so realistic and when I wake up I remember everything, which makes it even more interesting.

It's a way to step out of my life and into someone else's world. It allows me to gain insight into others and helps me learn new things and possibly find new experiences I may want to experience for myself. I am a big horror fan so there is also that aspect of creating that moment of excitement or fear that keeps me coming back for more.

I love reading. It takes me away to different places, and I get to go on all sorts of adventures. I know thats the typical answer, but that is honestly why I love to read so much. You can be anyone, anywhere, or anything you want to be. There is no limitations.

Wow, that's hard one to put into words... I like reading because books are filled with adventure, love, romance, intrigue, history, and so much more. It's exciting, sad, emotional, infuriating, and wonderful. I love picking up a book and feeling like I'm holding a world in my hands, and then opening the pages to visit that world. I love getting to know the characters, and caring about their lives as if they are friends. And I love to read about characters that I admire. It actually makes me a better person, when I read a character and think, "I want to be like that," and then strive to be.

I was an imaginative child, so I love the escape from reality that books give me. And if you find a really well written book, it can seem like you've made a new friend.

I love reading because it's my only escape from reality. It's like I'm a whole new different person, living a completely different life in a completely different world.

I love reading because I never really felt like I fit in with my classmates. So I spent most of my school day reading books. Books became my best friends, my worst enemies, my ticket to new lands, my helmet up on the moon or down to the deepest part of the ocean. Unlike my classmates, my social life was through books, and books are still my best friends and I'm in high school. :D

I think I love reading the most because in my mind it's the only way to ever truly get inside another person's head and view the world through their eyes. So many times in real life conversations, movies, etc I always wonder what other people are thinking and books seem to be the only way to really find out as you are literally reading their thoughts in the purest form. I just like the idea of getting out of my head and into someone else's - you never know what you will find. It's refreshing and exhilarating!

I like to read because it allows me to escape real life for a while and tune out the world. When I read it takes away some of the stress I have in my life and makes me feel like anything could happen. My reading passion started when I was seventeen and it started with the Twilight Saga and from there it's expanded. I have enough books to fill two standard book shelves and my numbers are increasing, not to mention my collection of books I have on my Nook. I love to read because it keeps me grounded.

I love reading because it provides an escape. It's something I can do to shut off the thoughts of homework, of my job, and escape to another world. This sounds unhealthy, but with anything, moderation is required. Sometimes we just need to see what adventures Drizzt has gotten himself into, what the political climate of Winterfell is, or how Richard Rahl has recently saved the world.

I love reading, because it gives me an escape from the real world. You can get lost in a book for hours with no stress and worries. Reading also gives you a way to expand your knowledge and experience things through another person's point of view :D

I love to read for so many reasons but for me like most here its the escape. An escape from reality and everyday life. To travel to New worlds and different times. To slay monsters, battle the forces of evil, discover New cultures and lifeforms, to save the world and to find love and win the girl. For me I read mostly fiction of all types but I have a thirst for knowledge and a love of learning new things as well so I cant seem to leave the bookstore without an arm full after spending hours browsing all the sections. Lol I'm glad I don't seem to be only one.
