Sounds like a tough read, but also inspiring. I can't imagine enduring so much. Thanks for your informative review!

I see mispellings in books often, honestly it is not a huge deal to me if the book is great. It sounds like this book is very moving, and I agree we must all learn not to judge and love.

This book sounds so emotional and inspirational. It sounds like it would be hard to read at times but moving also. I'm glad you enjoyed the book. Awesome review!

Thank you for the review. It is great when someone admits that they wept while reading the book. I think the story sounds really sad, but I am glad that you found the story touching enough to give it a four out of four stars!

What a great review! I wasn't going to read this one; but based on your fabulous review, I just might. Congrats to the author on a great review and an inspiring story.

I'm on the fence with this one. The subject matter is something I would normally read, and it sounds like a good read. I'll have to think on it :)

I can't imagine having medical problems as a child. Such a challenging situation for anyone! Sounds like the author has overcome many difficulties.

I like the way you really thought about the reasons behindthe author's actions and decisions. It sounds like Christophe had a lot of things working against him: health issues, bullying, interrupted schooling, confusion about his sexual identity, the lack of a safe space to reveal his true self, family problems, and eventually a substance use disorder. There would have to be a lot of hope and strength in the story and its characters to navigate through everything. I'm thrilled that you the reviewer also found yourself able to relate to Christophe and his story.

Wow! This book starts out fast and is riveting. My heart aches for the mother who is a doctor yet seems powerless to help.her child. I have 9 year old nephews and I would be terrified if this happened to them. The author captured the emotion of anguish nicely.

Congrats on the great review! I'm sure the book is just as moving as your wonderful review. 'Live every day as if it were your last' is a great philosophy to follow. I believe that it brings out the best in us. Will definitely read this book!

Excellent review, gives you a real idea of the struggles this man went through. But I'm only interested in historical non fiction.

Thanks for the kind and great review. It is an inspiration to all kids that are not healthy enough to be a regular kid. Also, it is the power of prayer that is responsible for Chris endurance. Thanks to the author for sharing his life's battles with his health on this book.

Wow! You seem very passionate about this book. And you really sell it! When I first read the description, I didn't think I would like it because I'm going through a phase where I don't want to read about anything super challenging right now. However, your review is making me rethink that decision. It's important to face hard things in life instead of just shy away from them, and that's definitely what it sounds like Christophe does! Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts on the book!

Wonderful review, Levi. This book truly sounds like a good read, and nonfiction is a genre I often skip over for fiction. I like the ones that are honest and share their full helping of regrets with the readers--we all have them. Life is uncertain and precious. We must never take for granted our health and the love shared by friends and family. Hopefully, everyone has this intangible gift of love in their lives! Thank you for this review many months before it became BOTD. Congratulations to the author!
