Oh my! This seems to be a collector's item. But it's too pricey and intelligent for a mere human like me. I'm sure physicians would appreciate it, though.

Thank you for your review. I downloaded the book and sampled some pages. This is an interesting topic, and I am looking forward to reading the book to see what the author has to say about COVID-19 and the morality of our physicians during the pandemic. Congrats to the author for the #BOTD.

The complex medical jargon is why I have chosen not to read this book, unfortunately. However, I appreciate how much work the author put into educating his peers in the medical field about ethics to help treat patients in the future. Thanks for the review!

"The Virtuous Physician" by Elliott B. Martin, Jr. is a compilation of various issues affecting medical practice. I like that the book touched on the topic of western culture and eastern culture.

I find this to be a helpful review as it not only gives an overview of the book but makes it clear that this is not a casual read. While the topic sounds interesting, after reading this review I do believe that I would possibly find the book a bit laborious, as I do not have a background in medical studies. I would still be willing to give it a try, but I would appreciate knowing what lay ahead.

I had to read the book once I read your review, still in the process of reading, but it's enticing so far

Thank you reviewer I gained more site of the book from your review. The book contains more information and knowledge about the medical development from the ancient Greek to present and about the diversity of medicine from western to eastern countries. I can see the book is about discussing through the use of essays about the pandemic we faced of Covid 19 and giving information where needed.

“The development of medical ethics from the ancient Greeks up to the present” and “the crossover from western culture to eastern culture” are rather interesting but I am yet to gain my interest of medical terminologies to read this one. Intricate review regardless.

In my honest opinion. I like how the positive and negative aspects were stated out, and how detailed te review was. It stated also how less difficult it would be to comprehend. In all this review is very good. Gives you an understanding of how the story went and what you should expects if you are about to read it.

The review provides an excellent overview of The Virtuous Physician and highlights the book's unique approach to medical ethics by blending ancient and modern perspectives. I found it particularly fascinating that the author included a detailed analysis of the word "physician" and tied it to historical reflections, such as Thucydides' account of the plague. It’s intriguing to see how the book examines the ethical challenges across cultures and eras, including the impact of COVID-19.

I appreciate the reviewer mentioning both the strengths and potential barriers to accessibility, such as the academic style and technical terminology. While this may limit the book's appeal to a general audience, it seems invaluable for those interested in a deeper, scholarly exploration of medical history and ethics. Overall, this review makes me curious about how Martin connects these historical narratives to present-day crises in medicine. Thank you for such a thorough analysis!
