You can tell the reviewer really enjoyed the book. I my not usually one for choosing a war story but I do love history. I very intrigued.

I have never heard of the Anglo-Boer War and I know very little about New Zealand except that I wish to visit someday. I love historical fiction and learning about new things, so I will definitely be picking this book up! Thanks for the read and review!

I'm not a fan of war or love stories, but I can appreciate the care the author took in crafting the characters and timeline. For that alone, I may pick this book up.

I don't read a lot of war books and I don't know anything about the Boer War, but I am very interested in reading this complete book. It sounds like it will keep my attention through the whole book and learning what more complex words mean is always a bonus. I can't wait to see where Richard's adventures in proving his love will lead me.

I'm not the biggest fan of straight romance books, but I love historical fiction. It seems as if the author did a lot of research because they depicted the tension between different social classes accurately. I might pass this up (since I prefer LGBT romance) but I can appreciate your thorough review. Thanks!

Very lovely historical romance about unknown to many war. I read it some time ago and will agree with this review at most points. What I really liked is characters and how this book is structured. Congrats on BOTD!

Richard Wilson, the main character of this story who falls in love with Rachel Purdue has to prove himself to achieve her family's approval. And to prove himself he joins the Boer War. The story seems to be interesting.

I like that this book is a historical fiction and that the plot points went from one to another without a problem. Great review.

I dont like books about war. Books on this topic usually depict misery and sorrows humankind has to face because of the deadly war. So it won't be my pick. Hope it is interesting for targeted readers.

I think this was a really well-done review. It's interesting that the main character joined the war just to try to prove himself. I kind of admire that. Mentioning references from popular shows, and pointing out the importance of chapter title reading was something that intrigued me. I'm a bit of a fan of both historical fiction and romance, so I might actually read this.

Thanks for the nice review. Historians who have interest in knowing what happened in the 19th century may want to read it.

The novel seems like an exciting and meaningful story for fans of historical fiction or romance genre. Unfortunately, I do not hold much interest for either, so I'm going to pass this. You have written a detailed and lovely review though, so thank you for that.
