Excellent Children's story, and very beneficial to young ones. I admire the effort the author put into the creation of this. I love the review BTW, it was magnificent.

I'm glad that this wonderful dog was adopted after he was rescued. This will spark affection among children .They will also have a few necessary points to learn about dogs. Great review.

Dear Bookowlie
Thank you for your insightful review of "A Spiritual Dog: Bear" by J. Wesley Porter. I appreciate your analysis of the book's themes, especially the bond between humans and rescue dogs.

Your comments on the scrapbook feel, photographs, and illustrations resonate with me. The portrayal of Bear's adjustment adds depth to the narrative, making it relatable for all ages.

I also agree on the potential for educational discussions about rescue dogs and pet aging, as the book serves as a gentle introduction to these topics.

While you noted some writing quality issues, I believe the heartfelt message and charming story outweigh these concerns. Your balanced rating of 3 out of 4 stars reflects its appeal to a wide audience.

Thank you once again for your review. I look forward to seeing how this book resonates with readers.

Best regards,

A Spiritual Dog: “Bear” by J. Wesley Porter is a non-fiction children’s book about the author’s beloved rescue dog. In 2003, Mr. Porter and his family decided to get a dog so they visited a local animal shelter in Killeen, Texas. They fell in love with an 8-week old Shih Tzu mixed breed puppy named Bear and adopted him. A Spiritual Dog: “Bear” by J. Children ages 7-10 would be able to read the book on their own, and parents or teachers could read it to the younger set. You can get a copy of this book on Amazon for a really low price. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.
