As a pre-teen I was totally addicted to the Chalet School series, and my parents (in pre-internet days!) were saintly in tracking them down, but there are still a couple I never did find! Though they're not really a series I find has 'worn' well, I would still like to read the ones that got away!

Barbara Mertz, aka Elizabeth Peters and Barbara Michaels. Amelia Peabody Emerson is not a literary that will allow the reader to move onto another author and forget her. Jacqueline Kirby, also is another Peters unforgettable persona, whom, sadly only appeared in three novels, but as a librarian, turned romance writer, turned mystery detective, she is tops!

Dean Koontz. This author made me fall in love with books as a young adult. Now I love to read. And I still find my self re reading his books

My fifth grade daughter recently read the entire Warriors series by Erin Hunter as well and is now reading the Fable Haven series by Brandon Mull. I love that reading is her passion as is mine. There are so many great authors that have hooked me from book one and I just had to read everything they ever wrote. Most recently, after reading a review here on The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, I decided to check it out and wound up reading all 9 books in the series!

I've read every single one of Sarah Dessen's books. When I first discovered her novels I devoured everything she wrote. Now i'm in the habit of checking her website to see which ones she's writing next.

Wow that is a tough one. There have been so many over the years. In my younger years it was probably Sidney Sheldon and John Irving. Oh and Robert B. Parker.

Then it was John Grisham and Patricia Cornwell. I still read both of them but Grisham has stayed mostly good whereas Cornwell, not so much.

But most of all I would have to say it is Michael Connelly. I love his Harry Bosch series and his Mickey Haller series. I can go off reading all types of other books but when Connelly has a new one out, reading it is like going home to an old friend.

I think my first was Thornton Burgess, though L. Frank Baum came shortly afterwards. I also had to read everything by Diana Wynne Jones, but since her books aren't all for the same age I couldn't hurry through them all. I might have missed a few.

How far back do you want to go? First it was all of my Golden Book fairy tales. Then it was all of my Berenstein Bears books. Then it was the kids in Ms. Rooney's class series, which was actually bought for my brother, but he never seemed to mind my interest in them. (I would sneak into his room to "borrow" them, but let's just keep that on a need-to-know.) Then it was all the different books, mostly ghostly, by Betty Ren Wright. Oh, and the Baby-Sitter's Club. I'd buy the latest one and read it in one glorious afternoon.

Ellen Hopkins all the way. I read Crank by her back when I was in high school. Ever since then I have devoured every one of her books in almost a single seating. She tackles such controversial topics dealing with teenagers and turns them into beautiful story lines that open your eyes to completely different view points. Even though I'm a college graduate now, I still find myself in the bookstore purchasing her new book when it hits the shelves.
