This story about the Wicked Wives reminds me a lot of the Broadway musical with a similar namesake. I would love to read this book to get a further indepth narrative and understanding of why each wife did what she did

An absorbing story with more than just a crime story perpetrated by wives. The narration is exceptional; the story is beautifully written--definitely a real page turner.

Thank you for an enjoyable and informative review 😊
I quite like the name of this book , The Wicked Wives, however I do get your point that it may captivate woman more.

Giorgio DiSipio sounds quite the mastermind to get these housewives under his persuasive spell , conspiring to kill their husband's for insurance money, and still most of these woman are choosing to be involved with Giorgio, promiscuously, with the hope of love. He must of been one remarkable tailor!

Congratulations to the author for recalling the stories his mother spoke of and using his experience as a trial attorney to fictionalize this captivating piece of historical fiction which is based on a true story!

Having delved into "The Wicked Wives," I'm struck by Pelagatti's ability to draw readers into the seedy underbelly of 1930s Philadelphia. The true-to-life characters and their morally ambiguous actions create a compelling narrative that keeps you hooked from start to finish.
I believe in something greater than myself.

This is definitely a read for me, it's sounds very interesting and full of suspense. The fact that it's based on a true story is another plus. I can't wait to see how the story unfolds and hopefully reading about all the reasons why these women went as far as killing their husbands. Thanks for an insightful review. Congrats on BOTD.

Lilly and Patsy are the wives of men in organized crime, in which they are heavily invested. As their husbands become entangled in a web of corruption and violence, Lily and Patsy are faced with a choice: they will see the brave or blackmail them to the authorities. #BOTD congratulation.

I sampled the first few chapters, about the women who murdered their husbands, and I fully agree with your comments and rating. It is a riveting tale. The book deserves a title that better reflects its virtues because it is a great book. And I am intrigued about that twist at the end you mention in the review!

The Wicked Wives by Gus Pelagatti is a historical fiction novel based on a true story that took place in the late 1930's. I keep wondering what their husbands may have done to warrant a conspiracy to the death.
